What was one item you brought on your cruise that you were glad you did? Or one item you regret not bringing?? This will give me some ideas on what to pack! I'm too excited and I might forget something.

Just returned fron the Wonder on Oct. 28th ...
Glad:
over door hanger ( this was a big help ) ( Thanks to everyone on the board)
sunscreen
film
digital camera
tennis shoes
light weight jacket

Regret;
way to many clothes.... I always over pack

Have FUN!!!:earsboy:

The over the door shoe hanger was great....my white noise machine to block out background noise while sleeping. Laundry tabs and dryer sheets as the machine in the laundry was sold out of them when I was in there!

Regrets: To much clothes ( I cut in half from the first cruise and STILL had to many!)
Soda...what a waste of time and effort carrying that onboard!
Light Jacket-never needed one, even outside at night!

I will be the third to say the over the door shoe hanger. A must now whenever we travel.

We also found the magnetic dry erase board is a must. We put it inside our stateroom door and would leave messages on where we where or notes to each other.

Passporter - loved the information and was able to add information from the Disboard.

I hate to admit it, but the after sun, burn gel for my son was a life saver. Oh, on the same note the extra sun screen

The last thing that I can think of are the pre-addressed address labels for postcards. I purchased stamps at CC when we first arrived and had a great time sitting at CC writing out postcards telling everyone I would not be returning home but staying at CC.

Some things I would not bring:

I packed way too many clothes and shoes. I will take maybe half of what I packed next time.

All those extra bottles of wine. We usually have a bottle of wine with our meal. We purchased the wine package and used only one bottle that we brought.

Glad I brought:

Post-Its and pens for leaving notes where we would be or any other form of communication to/from kids and likewise. Highlighter to mark Navigators.

We were in a Cat. 2 and counter space wasn't an issue so the over-the-door shoe wasn't necessary. However, in the second bedroom drawers are very small and for our cruises in August 2006, I'll be purchasing one of those sweater canvas bag things that hangs in the closet. Canvas Sweater Bag.

Sunscreen -- I usually hit Costco and buy at least six bottles of sunscreen. It's not a waste since we still use it at home. I also bring Aloe Vera, just in case.

Snorkel equipment -- we purchased our own and bring it along. We pack it all in a Rolling Duffle bag.

If I know I'm going to do laundry, I bring my own detergent and dryer sheets and, of course, quarters.

Soda -- I'm a Diet Mt. Dew-aholic. If you like something other than Coke products you might want to consider bringing your favorite soda. Wine -- we like to have a glass or two before dinner on our verandah. Here, again, if you have a favorite wine you might consider bringing a bottle or two.

My own hairdryer. Those provided are WEAK! Didn't need extension cord.

Night Light

Wish I brought:

Door stops to keep closet/bathroom doors open.

Regrets:

None. I finally have got the hang of not overpacking!! If something needs to be cleaned I'll send it out to be cleaned. The cost isn't too high and after all I am on vacation.

Things that were handy to have
Own hairdryer
Extension cord
Shoe holder (for shoes)
Address labels

Took too many clothes.
Took an alarm clock and never even plugged it in.

Glad we brought....

Over the door shoe hanger (same as all the above)
Large laundry bag
Splenda (just for room service coffee, but they have it in the Cove)
travel alarm clock
two of our own beach towels
a mini pharmacy....cold medicine, pepto, sudafed, etc....the ship is a germ pool, so it never hurts to be prepared.

Should have left at home.....

the bottles of wine. Ended up leaving one in the room....hope Jeryell was able to enjoy it!

Other than that, I can't think of anything I was wanting that we didn't have, unless you count our dogs! I missed them tons!

Wouldn't do without...
Actually we had two over the door shoe holders (one for the bathroom and one for the connecting room door)---we'll definitely bring two again.

Two-way radios (Motorola) --- ours worked great.

Clothes pins --- to hang wet/damp clothes out on the balcony.

Laundry detergent (and quarters) --- several small ziplock bags made it easy and inexpensive to do a few loads. (I've used Wisk tablets before but couldn't find them---does anyone know if they're discontinued?)

"AA" rechargable batteries --- for radios, digital cameras, gameboys, mp3 player,...

$1 bills --- for tips.

Luggage straps --- made it easy to spot our black (i.e. same as everyone elses') suitcases.

Should have brought...
Extension cord with power strip --- there weren't many outlets in the room...and some were even current limited (i.e., for electric shavers only).

Snorkel equipment --- Costco had adult/junior set that I didn't buy but should have.

Shouldn't have brought...
Night light --- just turn the light on in the bathroom and crack the door if you need one.

Food --- we had a lot of nuts and other food that we were planning on keeping after the cruise and for our flight home---unfortunatley, we couldn't take them off the ship.

Glad we brought:
**Over the door shoe hanger,
**Suction cup hooks (four pack for $1.00 at the dollar store) - used them to hang the shoe holder on in the bathroom, to hang the kttw lanyards on, etc.
** Power strip - to plug in curling iron, rechargers for the camera batteries, walkie talkies, phones
** MY brand of shampoo - but then I always bring that
**Moisturizer spent more time in and out of the water than usual and needed it for dry skin.
**My own pillow. Stuck it in at the last minute to fill up a suitcase and although the pillows on the ship were fine, it was nice to have MINE so I'll probably take it again.

Waste of packing space
**Too many clothes

What I forgot
** A hat. The sun is bright in the Caribbean and sunglasses weren't enough so I HAD to buy one in one of the markets.
