Registration open for annual meeting (December 7)

I’ll be there with two friends who are also owners.

We are relatively new owners with a trip planned for that week. I’ve never paid any attention to meeting reports in the past, and “cookies” caught my attention. Does anyone have a link to a good report about what goes on at the meeting? Is it worth going just once to see what it’s all about, or will we be bored to tears if we don’t really care about all the in-depth financials and such? I was thinking it might be where they officially announce Poly2, would that be likely? Are there usually perks and giveaways? Thoughts?

DVCNews covers it every year. Here's last year: https://dvcnews.com/dvc-program-men...vacation-club-condo-association-meeting-recap

There are not perks and giveaways. It's pretty boring business meeting stuff. The most excitement tends to be member questions when they haven't pre-vetted the people they give the microphone. At the end there are cookies and trail mix and a photo op.

It is very rare they announce anything new there for various reasons that relate to SEC guidelines and the purpose of the meeting.

Honestly, DVC are probably just as happy if members don't show up but they do have to allow it under Florida rules.

We've attended two or three annual meetings, and as above, they tend to be pretty boring. If we were going to be at WDW anyway, we'd probably attend this year, in hopes that some news about the Cabins and/or Poly tower will be presented. However, we wouldn't book a special trip for the meeting, and if we had already made some other plans for that day we wouldn't change them.

Occasionally there are interesting announcements or surprises (such as in December 2019, when DVC made buses available to take attendees to Riviera before it opened), and afterwards there will be opportunity to speak with DVC staff during the cookie party.

DVCNews has summaries of the meetings for a number of years past, so you could review them all if you want.
