Ok, so I mail in this form:
http://disneyrunning.com/Marathon10CastDVCReg.pdf
That gets me the DVC discount and also lets me avoid the active.com processing fee, correct?

The only thing I noticed is that you can't order the pin on this form. Is that something I can just buy when I get there? Do they sell out?

Is there anything else I should know about that's different by using this form rather than registering online?

Also, how long does it take to hear from them if I register using the form? Do they email/call/mail something? I know the half is at 80% right now so I would imagine I'll be fine if I mail it in this week. But I'll still be anxious to hear that I'm official. :)

Thanks so much!

I use this form also to get the cast member discount. I just filled it out with my cast # and mailed a check. Received an email confirmation in less than a week. I was really excited as last year I mailed in the form and it took over a month to get a postcard confirmation. I was able to buy the 1/2 marathon pins at the expo, I went on Thursday about 1pm.

The commemorative pins usually need to be pre-ordered to make sure you get one. They can be ordered online, even if you use a paper registration. Go to the half-marathon registration page and fill everything out as if you are registering online. Part way down that screen it will ask you how if you want to purchase the pins and how many. Fill in the amount you want to order. Once this screen is complete, click continue. The next screen will list the race and the pins in your cart. Just to the left of the "Half-Marathon" confirmation, click delete. This will remove the race registration and leave your pin order in the cart. You will need to pay the processing fee. Do not forget to pick them up at the expo either. I always order my pins this way.

Thanks Suzanne, that's great you got your confirmation so fast this time. I hope I do too.

Wow, great tip, thank you!! That's exactly what I'm going to do. I just did a mock order really fast to make sure I understood what to do and it worked just like you said. Wonderful!

I registered through active.com (didn't realize about the processing fee!), but it said the pins can only be picked up at the Health & Fitness Expo. Since we're only at WDW for four days (and one of them is the Mini that we're running), we weren't planning on spending the time to run over to the expo.

Is the expo worth our time? Is the pin worth going to the expo to get it?

Thanks!!

You will need to hit the expo to pick up your packet with your race bib, etc. The pins are available for pick up at the same time. You don't need to spend a lot of time at the expo if you don't want to, but you will need to be there to get your race stuff.

You don't have to hit the expo if you get someone else to pick up your packet. You need to give them a letter authorizing them to pickup your packet, a signed waiver, and a copy of an id(usually DL). This will allow you to skip it otherwise plan to spend some time in line at WWoS. The expo is part of the WDW race experience too.
