Register for JTA and rope drop TSM...possible?

Over spring break, we were able to register for JTA by 8:45am, and made it to Rockin' Roller Coaster at 9am. The crowds weren't even permitted down Sunset Boulevard yet, and we were finished registering for Jedi Training. If we arrive early again for JTA, is is possible to make it to Toy Story Mania before the crowds hit? I haven't read any reports of how the lines have been since fast pass hasn't been offered at TSM. TIA!

In my experience....the crowd "HITS" as the Rope is dropped for TSM. All you can do is try. Hope for the best, and plan for a long line. Hopefully, you'll be pleasantly surprised.

I too would be interested in first-hand accounts as this is also my plan for our trip...

Last summer we signed up for JTA before rope drop (around 8:45 and we were the fourth family in line), went to Buzz and Woody meet and greet at rope drop (2nd family there) and then rode TSM. We were done before 9:20 with all three. Granted, this was before all of the construction was interfering with FP and the amount of tracks available.

In December, the JTA people were allowed to leave the RD line to sign up and then rejoin before RD. It was a moot point to me because we had done sign up with our PPO ADR but I noted that's what they did for others.
