I thought I saw a thread on this, but can't seem to track it down.

We are stating at the ASM in October and have the free QS dining plan. My son - who is 7, doesn't typically like the standard child fare menu items. Am I allowed to call and adjust his age to 10.. Pay more for the tickets... And allow him to order off of adult menus?

Thanks!

Yes you sure can.

Not only can you do that, but when you come back the next year or in two years he can officially be 8, or ten again, or any number that is not lower than his actual age which also pushes him into a less expensive ticket/meal plan slot.

The general rule of thumb at Disney is if it involves you giving them more money than the minimum required they are very happy to accommodate. If you want to give them less, they get a bit testy.

So, if you order tickets and get the park hopper option and after a few days at the World realize you have not hopped yet and will not need the hopping you cannot get a refund for the price of hopping, but if you got base tickets and realize you want to hop, they will happily accept your payment and add hopping to your tickets.
