Regional Ice Creams that you LOVE

Always read the label for store bought ice cream. Most companies have down graded. Cream must be the first ingredient !! Tillamook is good (and cream is first.)

When my mom and dad were boyfriend/girlfriend at the time my dad always took my mom to my godfather's house because he and my godmother were huge fans of Blue Bell Ice Cream and every time my godparents had dinner they always had Blue Bell Ice Cream for dessert and got my mom to like it too. And I thought Blue Bell Ice Cream went bankrupt until my dad and I found some at a Walgreens in Texas and I liked it a lot. When my family would visit my great-aunt she would treat us to Thrifty Ice Cream and it was delicious and it's surprising that Thrifty Ice Cream still is sold at Rite Aid stores because that ice cream was good. If you want a great tasting ice cream I recommend Safeway's Signature brand of ice cream because they have many unique flavors and taste wonderful

Some of my favorites are Rocky Mountain Raspberry, Coconut Crush, Cookies and Coffee, Blueberry Cheesecake, Cannoli, Lemon Chillo.

I generally only buy Tillamook now. It's a very good, standard grocery store ice cream. But, last week I made a rare trip to Walmart and there was a brand there I've never seen, Hudsonville, and I thought I'd give it a try. OMG, it was SOOO good. I think someone mentioned it upthread. I'm glad I don't go to Walmart often because I'd be in trouble. I haven't seen it in any of my other grocery stores.

There's a tiny ice cream shop in Wildwood just off the boardwalk called Hassel's, and they have a chocolate banana swirl ice cream that is to die for. We get some every time we're there in the summer when they're open for business.

At home, I really like WaWa's brand Chocolate Peanut Butter ice cream.

I grew up in Cincinnati so Graeter's Black Raspberry Chocolate Chip. It used to be available here (New Hampshire) in stores but cannot find it anymore.

Local place called Bennie and Mae’s and their brown butter bourbon flavor.

That's not too far from where I camp in the spring and fall down there. I'll have to check it out this fall when I'm in the area again.

When I was a Heavy Equipment mechanic in the Marines all our units had ice cream machines.
We made this exact Ice Cream, and I still make it for the neighbors today:

It's weird to realize Tillamook is nationwide now. I remember when we really only got it on the Oregon Coast. I guess I should have realized since their creamery is so gargantuan now. I knew it was available much more widely the last 10 to 20 years since I can get it in WA but didn't realize you could get it on the East Coast.

It's weird to realize Tillamook is nationwide now. I remember when we really only got it on the Oregon Coast. I guess I should have realized since their creamery is so gargantuan now. I knew it was available much more widely the last 10 to 20 years since I can get it in WA but didn't realize you could get it on the East Coast.

I started seeing it in stores probably around 2020 but it was probably there a little before that.

This is the one I had. It has the creaminess of Tillamook and the flavor profile was fairly complex. There is this "butter fudge" stripe in it as well as regular fudge. So good.

I hadn't either. I went to Walmart about 2 months ago and it was not there. So it's new to me in my area (Virginia).

I am in CT and noticed it at the grocery store this weekend. It’s possible they’ve had it for a while but it jumped out to me because of this thread. I’ll have to try it!

Everyone (generally speaking) loves Ben and Jerries and Häagen Dazs ice creams, but often we all have a local ice cream make that blows the competition away.

For me, it's Salcombe Dairy Ice Cream, Salcombe being a small fishing town on the South Coast of England. Superb. Rare to find, but soooo worth it.
