REGARDING TRASFERING/RENTING pOINTS

I am probably going to be transferring my 2010 pts and I was hoping someone could tell me their experiences how they did it.I no you call member services and make the transfer.I realize once transferred it is a final exchange. So do you get the money before you make the exchange, do you have to make a contract? Any help, suggestions would be appreciated.

For transfering in I have always done 50% paid before the transfer and the other 50% as soon as the transfer is confirmed. This puts neither party at mor then 50% risk. I also used paypal (although it provides little protection)

I've done it 2x with the point receiver paying before transfer. They can get their money back but I can't get my points back.

Other people may do things differently so you'd have to find someone who handles the transaction in a manner you are comfortable with.

I also required payment in full prior to the one transfer I did. They sent me a money order for the total amount due and I transferred the points as soon as I recieved the money order.

I've bought transferred points 5 times over the years. I've dealt with owners I was comfortable with, and I sent all the money up front. I've done it by personal check, cashiers check and through Paypal. I've never been made to sign a contract! The owner calls me once the transfer is done and within 15 minutes of that I've been able to make my reservations!

Same here, but I've transferred out as well as transferred in. In both cases, payment was made in advance.

No contracts were used.

Thanks for all your advice. I guess I will try to transfer/rent my points and keep my fingers crossed.
