Regarding ticket price increase.....

I've made our reservations (and secured with deposit) for our Sept trip. Made through Walt Disney World Travel Co. and includes Beach Club room stay and 7 day park tix. I am assuming our ticket prices are secured at the current rate, correct?
But....as far as we are concerned, the BC ressies are contingent upon the Free Dining promo being released. IF Free Dining is NOT offered this fall, our "plan B" is to switch our hotel/tix package to a stay at CBR (half the hotel rate of BC, so enough $ saved to pay of oop dining).
NOW..... here's my question. If I switch my hotel ressies AFTER the forecast ticket price increase, will I then pay the increased rate for park tix or will my ticket price for the BC ressies carry over to our CBR ressies?
This trip is GOING TO HAPPEN.... either BC or CBR..... should I make parallel package ressies for CBR stay + tickets to secure the current ticket prices (I'm buying 5 adult park hoppers) and just cancel the ressies we don't need in April/May when we know whether or not Free Dining is or isn't going to be released?

I think you may end up paying the new rates either way (unless you book your CBR now and free dining doesn't come out). If free dining comes out you'll still have to book a new package.

If free dining comes out AFTER a ticket increase and you apply it to your current BC reservation, you will be charged the increased ticket price. Your current ticket price will not be grandfathered in. If you plan on staying at CBR if free dining ISN'T released, I would book that now, with the current ticket price and drop the BC reservation if you only plan to stay at BC with free dining. Disney has done this a lot in the past few years - releasing promos after ticket increases which pretty much negates the discount for those who have already booked under the lower ticket prices. I once tried to apply a discount after a ticket price increase and it would have raised my price ABOVE my rack rate price with tix. Not fun, but at least I was spending less than I would have if I had waited to book.

Like PP said, if you switch your BC reservation to the free dining promo, you'll pay the increased ticket prices. (Happened to us last year). So I would go ahead and book CBR so you're locked in to those prices in case FD is not offered.

Regardless of your current reservation, if you change it after the ticket increase, you will pay the new price. Promos are typically for new reservations, so you will be cancelling your current one anyway. Your current res at BC does not guarantee you a promo res at BC.

And actually, you are hurting your chances of getting FD by having your room already booked. Let's say FD comes out, and you call to get it, they will look if a room is available. Your reservation is actually holding a room that will not be available for the FD promo (They don't just apply the promo, they cancel your reservation and then book a new one, bt it takes time before the cancelled room goes back into inventory.)

I'd say cancel your reservation at BC and book CBR. Then if FD comes out, you book BC and cancell CBR, if not, you keep CBR and don't get hit with tickets price increase.

Beat Our Annual Price Increase

Every year, we raise our ticket prices based on annual gate price increases. Last year, we raised our prices in February. Don't wait until we run out of inventory at our lowest prices!

As noted, the only way to lock in the current price is to book now and make no changes later, or buy tickets separately and not as part of any package so that you have them in hand.

We are planning a family trip in 2017. If I buy six 4-day park hoppers now .....can they be used by my other family members we are treating to the trip?

Always boggles me why people book packages hoping for FD.

First you are increasing their occupancy, the only reason they offer the FD is to up that number
Second to "apply" they have to find an open slot, one you already lowered by booking, then they grab it for you and delete your old, but dont then go back and put a FD into the pool.
Third as others mentioned, they apply new ticket prices into the new package so the cost is higher. If your resort isnt included or they are gone when you get through, now your backup is pricier.
Do yourself and everyone else a favor, book your backup instead, you can always cancel it of your primary opens up with FD, if not oh well, you didnt want to stay there anyway without FD right?
