Do those of you who get car sick also get sick while riding on an airplane???

My 4 year old daughter occasionally gets sick on long car rides and was wondering if flying is going to bother her. I am planning on giving her dramimine. This will be our first flight.

Hi Piglet,
I get car sick VERY easily. I have to sit in the front seat no matter what type of vehicle we're in and even then, I can't read in the car or even browse thru a magazine.
In spite of this, I have never felt even the slightest bit sick on an airplane.
I think it helps that I don't watch out the window during take-off or landing.

Good luck !

I get carsick pretty easily also but rarely get sick on the airplane. I've gotten queasy once and that was on an overseas flight that got a little bumpy over the Atlantic. We were trying to fly over some storm clouds but got nipped a bit. Once I got actually sick. That was also due to turbulence. It was pretty bumpy for most of a two hour flight.

On all other flights, however, I've been perfectly fine! The Dramm. should be fine. They also have non-drowsy formula if the regular kind makes her sleepy.

piglet,

My dd gets carsick if the ride is longer than 30 mins. We have had great success with Bonine (It is over the counter usually right next to the dramamine) It does not make her drowsy, lasts ALL day and its chewable! We've used it for car rides, train rides and amusement park rides (some of the spinning ones get to her). She will definetely take it for our plane ride this coming Sept.

Btw, my dd does not always get "sick" sometimes just queasy and the bonine works in minutes.

I may take it this trip too.:D

You could probably give her half a pill - but as with all meds check with you Dr.
