I would love to have a patio put down off of our deck, but my hubby thinks it would be too expensive. Does anyone know how much it would be per ft or yard to have a patio put down. We could even dig out the area and frame it out ourselves, just need to have a cement truck bring in a load, I guess. I was hoping maybe some of you have had one poured or maybe work with such and would be able to give me a ball park figure. The area would be about 13' X 13'. Thanks in advance! By the way, we are in NC if that makes a difference.

We had an 11 x 18 cement patio installed back in 1999. It cost $900. They did all the digging, framing, pouring, etc.

We had a 10x10 cement patio put in last March for our hot tub. They did it all and it was $750.

We had a patio pour this last spring and it cost us 950.00 for 400 sq ft. It's an L shape. Now I'm trying to save up some more money to tile it.

Thanks so much for the response! It doesn't sound like it is too much after all. Maybe I can talk hubby into it. Has anyone had a problem with theirs cracking?

We had a lot of concrete poured (front drive, back drive, patio, sunroom foundation). The advantage of having someone else do it is that they will (or should) do whatever surveying needs to get done as well as making sure the patio is graded away from any foundation walls. A small area shouldn't be too expensive. Our biggest challenge was finding a contractor to even give us an estimate!

As for cracks...no ours hasn't in five years but that is why always cut in control joints - to control the direction of the crack should it happen.

This website will tell you the price of just the cement itself:

Then you would have figure out labor if you're hiring it out.
We are having 10 cubic yards of cement installed and it's running us about 2,500. The labor on that is about 50% of the total price.

A good rule of thumb is to take the price of materials and double it to cover labor.

Also, remeber when calculating your materials (cement) you probably will have to pay for a full 5 yard truck as most times you can't buy say 2.5 yards.

I think you are looking at $1000 to $1500 dollars.

I had a 15x 20 one done last year for 900.00. I also had a 12x15 one done for 1,000.00. Obviously different contractors.

Here is the rule....concrete cracks and there is nothing you can do about it but hire somene who you think will do a good job.
Ask around if you can!!!

My neighbors just spent 4,000 on their patio. Bigger and stamped concrete.

We are getting a pool so lots of concrete in my backyard. We are doing stamped for our decking and which is beautiful but also adds $$$$.

If your willing to dig, frame and steel it then find a housing development and see if you can't snag on of the cement guys as they leave. Sometimes they pour it for a 6-pack and you get good grade cement. Good Luck
