Decided to restart my PJ. I originally started it before the ball got rolling then forgot about it for a while haha. But almost everything is worked out now, we've had a PS and gotten our floral beo! So i'll start with the basic details and add in the other stuff.

12/29/2011; 10 am Wedding Pavilion; 11-3 Atlantic Dance Hall

colors: dark teal (see bm dresses) hot pink accents (to go with the stargazers) gold and silver (yes both haha just as accent colors for the confetti and in the cake!)

5 bridesmaids: Ryan (moh), Sam, Sarah, Amy, Alyssa. I'll also have my cousin Emma as a junior bridesmaid, possibly bump her up to BM

5 groomsmen: Nick (best man), Rhys (my bro), FiL, Zach, GPR (Js grandfather), Andrew (j bro)

my side: 32 (excluding wedding party members)

his side: 18 (excluding wedding party members)

total- 64 (with 15 being under 21 woo for only having to meet the $75 F&B min for 53! too bad we still have to feed them jk!

flowers: stargazers and roses. my bouquet

I think we are doing a limo for the wedding party and doing a one way bus (Boardwalk to WP to ADH) (each trip would be $25 much cheaper than other options). Wasn't planning on this at all but J's favoriterotfl2 aunt decided to tell his entire side that there wouldn't be any transportation and it would be impossible to get to the wedding...... Had i known at the ps that his side would be flying in i would have set this up earlier. not an issue. (minus the rumor mill)

Cocktail hour:

• assorted danishes
• coffee
• Champagne Sabayon with Fresh Seasonal Berries served in Champagne Flutes

Brunch

• mickey waffles (obviously)
• omlett bar
• pasta primavera station
• over roasted potato wedges
• grilled veggies
• herb crusted mahi (with the fixin's)
• and lastly, and most importantly, baaaaacon

We are also doing a wine and beer bar for the 21+ crowd and soda bar for everyone else.

Ceremony:
alter

• the 3 cylinder set (x2, one on each side) with petals and floating flower (move to reception)
• sprinkle petals on table
• bringing my own unity candle set
• no aisle runner right now, maybe petals on side though
• petals for toss (bringing my own)

very very simple for ceremony.

Pre-reception: (upstairs in ADH)
sprinkle gold and silver mickey confetti on tables

Reception:

• roman table for Bride, groom, and parents: move alter arrangements to table, chair cover with peacock sash two 9" cylinder fill with acrylic ice place bm bouquet in each
• first four tables when you walk in (on the railing before the dance floor) for bridal party (sans family members) and friends. 4- 9" cylinders fill with acrylic ice and place bm bouquets, alternate "bling" and petals
• rest of tables alternate "bling" and petals. 9" cylinder fill water, hot pink and ivory petals float votive on each table
• cake table, sprinkle petals
• on dance floor: 8 cocktail tables 4 highboys. linen cover on highboys with peacock sash to make hourglass shape. votive on each table.

if anyone is interested the decor for everything is about $700 sans tax. prices aren't locked yet because we are still 7 months out. i priced everything out this past weekend and disneys prices for what i want is very comparable to diy minus the stuff i could buy in bulk or if there was a sale. so not worth it to me!

its the personal floral that is insane. right now we are over $1,000 for everything! I am working on bringing that down if at all possible! I am for sure cutting out corsages for the moms and gmom's (5 at $26=yikes!) and am hopefully making them flowers to match those on my dress out of excessive fabric when we get my dress altered. That makes them special keepsakes! Right?... Right?

Still waiting on the main BEO. I've been able to do some estimates thanks to Carrie's book and right now with my best case calculations (no taxes here!)
Food and Bev (3 hour bar) $4177

total:$8,944

now this is sans cake and music. we've got 1,056 to spend here!

Cake:
Right now we have a three tier mad hatter with the champagne celebration as inspiration! Ivory fondant. 1st layer gold swirls and crazy designs, middle layer my teal color swirls and chaos, and top layer silver swirls and chaos. Our topper will be the same as the CC! I think we will bring this down to a two tier and get a sheet cake to help with cost.

We have two music options. Ipod set up. If we do this we will get major domo. We also may swing for the dj just depends on how everything works out. If i can get the floral down closer to $1400 (totally do-able...). That would almost cover the cake and sheet cake and then we would have room with the money we have put in and the money parents are giving us. read: dreaming


OH! Also we are doing our rehersal dinner at Rainforest Cafe (AK location)

I think this is all for now! I'm sure I am leaving lots out but I'll fill in holes as I go!

Congratulations! And I like your plans so far! I love the whole brunch thing, I would definitely be doing it if I was having a Disney wedding. And I'm sure the moms and grandmothers will love whatever kind of flowers you give them Personally I think your idea sounds like a nice one!

Thanks everyone! Nichole I can't wait to see your pictures and how ADH turns out for you! I absolutely love that venue; conference rooms always look great after the decorations but I wanted something a little different!

and finally mine:

i love it and can't wait to get it altered! I got lucky and was able to buy the sample (ie. its a 2009 (blue by enzoani .. looove me some enzoani wish i could have bought all of their dresses!) so its been around the store for a while.) Its in great shape, needed a couple new gems and a couple new stitches on the fold-y parts (pardon my extensive knowledge of fashion and sewing) And lots of taking in and up! With my shoes i need 3-4 inches hemmed and i think its a size 6 or 8 and i'll need to get it taken in to a 2/4. I've lost around 10 lbs since i tried the dress on the first time but lucky for me it won't affect alterations aand i have my jawline back haha

Along with (hopefully) making flowers for the V.I.L's (very important ladies) they are making one for my hair. Which i am planning on wearing in a loose low 'do (possibly low bun, i just hate the term bun, too many dance recital memories) i've got some ideas floating around in my head but something easy for Beauty Speciale (btw I booked them for hair and make up)

Thanks for reading! I am so excited to be in Disney during Christmas maybe you will see us! We will be running around Epcot afterwards (i'll be in a short white dress, hair and makeup still done, well probably haha). Your daughter sounds like me (with a major age difference haha)! I saw the horse and carriage when I was younger and that is what sealed the deal for me! Sadly no carriage for me (friends and family are more important budget wise... i guess ) but having everything done for me planning-wise makes up for it!


nice little update, got floral brought down by $500! so no aisle runner and my bouquet will be $175 + 2 mickeys and 9 crystals (bc we are getting married on the 29 haha cute right? not my idea, wish i could claim it) (+$15)=$190 (down $63) bridesmaids bouquets are now $85 from $115 (down $30!). Depending on how the beo turns out I may add a little to the ceremony. Maybe bring in petals for the sides and do swag or do the big cylinders on the F/M/L rows with a candle and or petals. each option seems to be around $150!

anytime! lol maybe! we ran into 4 weddings there the first week of may, all of them at the gf while waiting for ressies at 1900 pf. shes all about the princesses still and a disney freak like momma. we jsut got back the 8th and the two of them( her and her brother) are planning their rides for december and talking about it non stop. i love the carriage!!! we went over our first trip pre kids and stumbled upon a bridal party and the carriage and it was stunning.

wow. i can't believe how long it has been since I have posted! Several updates and changes

Thanks for all the compliments! I am just in love with my dress its so different without being too out there!


James and I almost said screw it and eloped (this wedding isn't for me, its for the family and James; don't get me wrong I am excited for a Disney wedding and its going to be beautiful but the idea of spending all this money on one day with me in the spotlight kills me.) My mom, however, refused to grasp the concept of an elopement and kept trying to work "the important" family members in and wanted to see if my dress could be altered in time. Planned Elopement? Mom's not silly, she just didn't want me to elope. As a compromise (of sorts) J and I are going to the Justice of the Peace on 7/13. This way I can move in with James in Aug (and make it kosher with the 'rents) and we can start saving money for the wedding and hopefully keep a few things and most importantly so J's grandfather can be our officiant!

So wedding planning is back on!

We got our BEO back a few weeks ago (umm very early in June actually...) And it wasn't too bad. We've got about 13K in our budget and we came around 16200. Luckily for us have Major Domo, the DJ, extra food on the buffet, and unnecessary transportation (more on that in a moment). But we are going to add in a 3 hour Limo Charter.

so here we go with just the basics (I'm adding in my changes): (for 61 guests)
Ceremony
WP: $3195
MD: $675
Transport: limo 3 hours $282 (its 94 per hour right?)
Floral: $1714.83 (includes fees. still yikes but that's as low as we can go, i think, unless i gut boutonnieres only saves $50 though so no go) total: $5866.83

Reception at ADH 11-3
Pre-reception: Champagne Sabyon and Assorted Danishes
Brunch: Egg station, Stuffed French Toast, Mickey Waffles, BACON, Panko Encrusted Mahi in a lemon butter sauce (freaking amazing) roasted potatoes, grilled veggies, and Pasta Primavera station.
=55 @$65 pp (not bad but there will be cuts!) =4606.92
=6 kids meals @ 32.50 = $251.29
=2 vendor meals @ 24.5= $63.14
=1 cake handling fee @ $279.56
=6 dz Cin. Rolls (from Norway J's fave) 417.52 rotfl2
Drinks: Beer and Wine Hosted Bar $25 pp open from 1130-230 =$1546.38 (considering closing the bar during brunch to expand hours but we shall see)
Soda bar: $16.50 open 1130-230 =$276.42
Champagne Toast: 1 bottle =$47.68
DJ $1500 (new for weekday early ceremonies!)
total: 8998.91

total=16204.99

So on to cuts (of all kinds..)

J and his parents have not had the best of relationships. Everything came to a boiling point on Tuesday. He officially uninvited them along with the aunt (and her family) he despises. That evening he assumed none of his family would come; HOWEVER, his Grandparents (only has one set) and his favorite Aunt and Uncle along with their two girls are coming! Yay! There is the possibility that his Grandfather will talk him into re-inviting his parents and the possibility that his aunt and uncle in Cali will still come. As far I am concerned I want them to resolve their issues I don't have anything against his parents but I understand both sides issues and I am in James' court obviously.

So if things stay the way they are our count is 53 (40 are 21^, the remaining 13 are underage)

Food cuts will be: danishes at PR
cutting either waffles or french toast

I'm still hoping I can save up enough money once I move in with james to keep the fun stuff! But time will tell!
