Has anyone ever stayed here at downtown disney ??? I just saw a listing for $69 a night for the dates I will be staying and was curious what kind of resort it was. I'm gonna be staying for probably about 4 or 5 days, with my own car & will be going to disney & universal studios. Also, do you know if the same disney transportation works here as it does for all the resorts in disney ? :)

I stayed here in early March. I think I paid around $80/nt. There are (interior) rooms in the tower and then there are (exterior) rooms behind the tower in a couple different buildings. Follow me? However, the exterior buildings are all linked to the tower and the walk is very easy. We stayed in the exterior buildings on the second floor. Our room was VERY clean, decorated very nicely, beds comfy. Our rate included free breakfast buffet. One day we were there was the character breakfast day and that was FREE! I do believe they have transportation to the parks, but it is not through Disney buses. Downtown Disney is VERY close to the resort. Maybe a 5 minute walk. Pool area is great, zero entry pool and kids play area. The water and air were a little chilly for us to be swimming, though (we are FL natives and we don't swim unless the water is warm!). The lobby is very pretty, very large and all the staff was very friendly. Make sure if you have a rate that includes breakfast to ask for the vouchers at check-in. Hope this helps!

Since the Regal Sun isn't a Disney-owned resort, I'm going to zip this thread over to the Orlando Hotels and Attractions board. I'm sure you'll find folks who've stayed at this resort on that board. :)

Thank you !! This is great information. :) On the website they said they had Disney shuttles every half hour, but I wasn't positive if it was Disney buses. But we could always walk to Downtown Disney & take a shuttle to another park. Am I right in thinking that ?

no, buses at dtd do not go to the parks, only to the resorts.

Would you mind saying where you found that rate?

It looks like I actually will be staying there now, after discussing with my other party we're only gonna be staying iin Disney at a max of 2 days :sad2: But I guess that leaves us the other 2 days for Universal. So this resort is great for us! & its so cheap. Theres a site called BookIt that gives it $69 a night & then takes of an extra $40 & waves the $15 resort fee each night. :woohoo::yay:

It might be depending on the dates.
Check out dates June 17 to 22th, for example, and is at 69.00.
Expedia is also at 69.00.

It lists $69 but when you actually go to book you have to pay the $15 resort fee at expedia & travelocoty. With Bookit those fees are waved! I just booked the Regal Sun for 4 nights & it was $325.99 with taxes & fees. For travelocity it was $380 at final booking, and at expedia it was $370. :)

Got it. I thought you were talking about a 70 USD differential per night. As I posted the 69 USD in Travelocity, I wanted to make sure that I didn't mislead anyone for twice the amount I stated. At that point, I didn't knew about the resort fee being waived.

Oh, yes. Sorry for that! It's a total of $70 savings. Just to make sure I checked all the hotel sites I could think of & BookIt was the only site waiving the fee! :yay:

They have it for 47.00 a night on hotwire.com. It wont show what dtd hotel it is until you book it, but others have booked it at it is this hotel. I am looking at doing it today for our trip in Sept. I need it for one night.
