Regal Palms in Davenport

onlyforme Thanks for the garbage tip. We'll have to try that!

Reviews like yours helps put my mind at ease, thanks!

bonzarella Sorry to hear about your flight change. To save some money, we had to book a flight with a layover in New York. YUCK! Looks like you'll be arriving only a couple days before us. Maybe our paths will cross at the pool or something?

I am so jealous!!! I want to go too! There is WAY too much snow here in Maine! :cold:

Hi - I was thinking of switching my reservation in June from Marriott Grande Vista to Regal Palms. My question is: Does anyone know if any of the 3 or 5 bedroom townhouses have outside balconies? Not that this is important, but I do like being able to sit out there if I'm up early or late.

Thanks so much!
Heather C

I believe I saw a picture somewhere of the units showing a cement pad on the lower level and a balcony outside of the master bedroom. I'll see if I can find it again.

It looks like some units have balconies, while others do not.

Thank you so much! The pictures are great. Turns out the unit we are renting does have a balcony.

All the units have either a balcony in the front or in the back of the home on the second floor. All units have sliding doors to the backyards. :goodvibes

I'm getting nervous about our stay due to more poor reviews on Trip Advisor. We leave for Orlando tomorrow so I'll be back in a couple weeks with a comprehensive review. Wish us luck!

Go with an open mind...and enjoy! You're in Florida!!! :sunny: :goodvibes

anyone stay recently? sounds like there is ALOT of construction going on near the pool. also the tripadvisor reports are mostly bad. I have found out that tripadvisor is on the mark for me esp. since I am picky about where I stay.

Looking at Windsor Hills but it also new and cannot find reviews.

Most likely will go with Windsor Palms from an owner.

We stayed at a private owner's townhome that was in the middle of the complex of townhomes in late January into early February. We were not bothered by the construction around the complex. The contruction was not in the pool complex but rather beside it as they were working on/finishing off the convention center and the spa. They were building more townhomes at the very edge of the complex but it did not affect us at all. We were NEVER awoken by construction equipment the entire time we were there, as someone on Trip Advisor stated they were. When we were there the large pieces of equipment were housed overnight on the job site not inside the complex itself. As for the reports of no housekeeping on someone's report on Trip Advisor, you have to specifically ask and perhaps pay for, the housekeeping services. We had trash pickup everyday at the curb and a new bag was left for us each day on our door as we did not opt for housekeeping. As for reports of rude staff, I can say that we encountered NO ONE that was outwardly rude or non accomidating. Could they be a bit more pleasant, sure, but they were not out to get us or anything as the reporter seems to imply. We had GREAT service with our private owner, as well as the wait and bar staff in the bar and grill! Just my observations..... :goodvibes

Overall, it is a very nice complex that will get even nicer when they finish the construction. :sunny: The pool area is AMAZING and LOADS of fun! :rotfl: My family and I LOVED it! And for sure would love to visit again next year! :lovestruc

when do you think the construction will be finished awhile? we are going at the beginning of june. if we go here it will only be through an owner most likely vrbo where i see lots of pics of the units. we have had very good success with vrbo. thanx for the info.

The owner that we rented through has been told that the Gymnasium and Health Center will be open in May...who knows :confused3 I guess you could always call the front office and ask how it is going?. :goodvibes

We just stayed at Regal Palms last week and it looks like there will be constuction for quite a while. However, the unit we rented was a fair distance from the work and we were not disturbed by any noise at all. The pool area was also fairly quiet.

How did you like the resort? Was the staff helpful? Also I may stay there alone for a while how is security? The living area looks kind of small?
Thanks

The living area is not very large but it did have a sofa and loveseat.

About the staff, my interaction with them was minimal. I didn't find them to be overly helpful but they weren't rude either.

The units have key card access, much like a hotel. The resort is in a nice area and we never saw anybody remotely shady. I'm sure you'd be find staying by yourself.

As mentioned in my earlier posts, I was worried about the resorts after reading some of the reviews on Trip Advisor. However, everything worked out perfectly fine. I would have no hesitations staying there again.
