Thanks a bunch for the info. In the past, we've had a similar program in our neighborhood but in exchange for free admission the kids had to read a story and right a brief summary. For the little kids, parents could read to them and they get to draw a picture about the story. Great for encouraging reading.

I looked up our state and we have a Regal Theater in our neighborhood that is participating

ETA: I went searching for other theaters and found AMC movies theaters showing kids summer films for $1, which is donated to the Will Rodgers Institute.

National Amusements free summer movies

I emailed from the National Amusements website to ask about their free summer movies, Bookworm Wednesdays and this was the response I got:

Thanks for your email! Bookworm Wednesdays is back at select locations again this year. Here is the list of dates and film titles. All shows are Wednesdays at 10 a.m.
