refurbs- do they ever open early?

BTMR is closed for refurb til Nov 18. Our dates are Nov 5-12. I don't expect it will open early just curious though if any refurbished rides have ever opened up before the finish date posted?

Was there in early March and Buzz was down for a week-long refurbishment. It has a soft/quiet opening on a Thursday when the "official" open was on a Saturday. We were able to jump on and try it out before it was done. Also, Kali Rapids was down during our trip and expected to open on 3/18, which it did as planned.

This is true. They will include soft openings from time to time!

We were there that week as well. We were at AK on 3/14 and I noticed the times guide showed it opening on 3/15 so I asked a CM in that area if Kali River would open early and they told me probably. We were able to get a fast pass for it on 3/17 but I think it had opened a day or two earlier for walk ons.

We were also disappointed that we were going to miss Typhoon Lagoon as it's refurb had been extended to 3/19. But Blizzard Beach had a malfunction so they opened all but the Shark Reef on 3/17 and 3/18, then closed it again for the weekend when BB reopened.

Off topic slightly - Was Buzz really refurbed, as in do the lasers work now? Last few times we've ridden it, we have had AWFUL luck with the "guns".
