Refurbishments- Sun Wheel & IASW

I just got off the phone w/ Disney vacations. I had to make a change to ours (just a typo on the name.) I wound up talking to the CM for almost an hour. I asked him about everything from refurbishments to the picketers outside the PPH. I even read him the post about the freezing cold pool at the DLH.

He said the Sun Wheel goes down in September and will be back up and running on Feb. 26, 2009. It's a Small World won't be back in business until Nov. 28. Unfortunately, we're going to miss both on our trip in Nov.

aww i really wanted my son to see IASW its been closed the last few times we went to DL. im not tooo sad about the sunwheele though! haha that thing is terrifying! my brother would have made me gone on it again, so at least now he cant! its fun to get scared like that once in a while though, so i guess im kinda sad its closed too lol

What's the scoop on the picketers? And I'm curious what he said about the cold pool...

He said it is supposed to be heated. He was surprised it was cold. He spoke to his supervisor about the picketers, and relayed the info. They said they couldn't really chat much about it, since it wasn't sponsored or endorsed by Disney. He told me to call the individual hotel front desk, and they would be able to keep me up to date as to what the situation is there. He said his office was located a little ways away to where he couldn't really say anything.

Then he started talking about fuel prices and electric cars in CA for almost an hour. He was super nice though.

I'm bummed about the sun wheel more than I am about IASW-I really was excited to go on the moving seat thingy (whatever they are called) this time around. Oh, well. As far as closed rides go I'll take that one over many many others.
