refurbishments ever done ahead of schedule?

Hello! I was wondering if anyone had ever gone to Disneyland expecting an attraction to be under refurbishment, and then was pleasantly surprised to find it finished early and actually open??? Or does Disney pretty much hold tight to the schedule?

We've been talking about this kind of thing in other threads occasionally lately. I believe I read recently that Matterhorn re-opened a day or two early after its most recent refurbishment. It can happen but obviously should be viewed as you said as a pleasant surprise rather than planned around with the hope that it will happen.

I think we have been surprised on Occasion. I was hoping Pirates would be open by Veteran's day this year. That is more than a few days early, but one can hope!

Yes, this is true! Three days early I think. Tuesday instead of Friday. I was actually pleasantly surprised, wasn't expecting it at all, saw it with riders from the monorail platform

I don't think it happens all that often though.

When I went in 2006 the Matterhorn opened a week early. It was on our final day so I don't know if it was a temporary thing just to see if everything was working correctly or if it stayed open.
