I asked this on the other thread about this but I'll ask here too. Is there any downside to buying refurbished? I don't have much experience with refurbished electronics.

I've bought refurbished items before and they usually come with close to or exactly the same warranty. If B&N is like Apple, you will get a new skin on it as well as the interior parts reworked. No problems so far and keeping my fingers crossed on this one. I ordered one earlier today.
