Refurb schedule and Spring Break -- booo

Was thinking of sneaking in a day at the parks in between looking at colleges in So Cal for our graduating daughter over our Spring Break (week of March 30). After reviewing list of refurbs it appears that Splash Mountain, Peter Pan and Soarin' will ALL be closed! Some are scheduled to re-open at the end of the week (Good Friday).

So I question going when we would be missing three of our favorite rides. DD says get over it.

What are the chances they would open earlier than posted dates, especially during the busy Spring Break season?

A little sad here....

There's always a chance, but book your day as if they are all going to be down and don't pin your hope on anything beating the schedule. Then you'll be pleasantly surprised if one or more is not down for your trip.

It's also worth noting that nothing has been official announced by DLR about the re-opening dates for the multi-month refurbishments (that I've seen). I know that speculative dates have been posted on several Disney-fan sites, but even when the dates are announced by Disney, they are subject to change. I agree with awdsmama that the best thing to do is go expecting them to be closed and if they happen to open early, then that's a bonus.

Based on the dates I've seen, it looks like only Splash has a target re-open date during Spring Break. With the other two having rumored re-opening dates in May, it seems less likely that those would re-open a month or more ahead of schedule. Still, it all depends on what is happening and what they actually decide to do.

According to the information I have, Splash Mountain and the rest of the Critter Country is scheduled to re-open on April 2.

Not quite sure why you quoted my response...the OP asked about Splash, Soarin' and Peter Pan. Only Splash has a rumored re-opening date that is near Spring Break time. The other two are not rumored to re-open until May.

In terms of Splash, I've seen that date as well, but I've never been sure how much is just rumored information that comes from one site and is then parroted out by other sites and then folks think that it must be accurate because multiple (non-official) sites are reporting that information.

Unfortunately, regarding the refurb schedule, that's how the cookie crumbles. I can't remember every going to DL where every ride was open! We usually go in the more "off season" but still... I think Soarin' is going to be better when it reopens and is maybe a reason to plan another trip! ;)

Hope you have a magical trip despite this :)

I quoted your response because it spoke to "rumors" and "unofficial" information. I posted a re-opening date that has been released by Disney. But I posted in error. These refurbishments are scheduled through April 2, which probably means those attractions won't open back up until the 3rd.

I had checked Disneyland.com, the refurbishment hotline, and Disneylandnews.com prior to posting and couldn't find anything with the re-opening dates explicitly mentioned, so it's good to hear that they have officially announced it. Can you post the link so that I can add it to the list of places I check for official information?

Hubby's favorite in the whole world is Splash Mountain. He has said in the past that he wouldn't want to be at DL if Splash wasn't open. One trip he rode it eight times in a row! Would be so happy if they'd move that re-open date just a little bit earlier. It will already be a tough sell to go for a day over spring break, but if he found out "his" ride isn't open, wow, it won't be pretty.

And we have a longer trip planned -- in July 2016! Just hoping for a quick trip before then.
