Refund takes 3-4 weeks?

We had to cancel the trip we had for Sept because my husband is military and we are moving. I called to cancel today and they said it takes 3-4 weeks to be refunded. That's the longest I've heard to be refunded. They take your money right away but don't want to give it back. How long has it taken any of you? Thanks in advance for responding!

I work in a financial industry and I hear this amount of time for just about any cash transaction or update. I've heard as long as 8 weeks which is ludicrous! I imagine that this has to do with whatever cycle they're on but who knows?

i have read on the threads those that have canceled their uo trips did not have that long of a wait.

some were refunded within 2 weeks.

it probably is due to the closing period of your credit card.
