Anyone have any experience/opinions on renting a frig versus using a cooler at Pop Century? I want to be able to keep milk, juice & some fruits/veggies cold but don't know the charge for frig. Does the frig have a freezer section for holding ice cream treats or anything? Any info would be appreciated!! We're planning on going in October ... not certain we'll be at Pop, but pretty sure (so far).

We've always used a cooler and never had a problem keping items cold. For what I would have to pay to get a fridge for our stay I could go to walmart and buy one. I believe it is still $10/day.

As Bobcat stated, if you are going to the World for more than seven days and need a refridgerator: go to Walmart and buy one for $69.
As for the fridges at POP some of the fridges have a very small freezer section, however most of the fridges are being replaced with units having no freezer section.
I have used a cooler and it keeps everything nice and cool all day. better yet the ice is free at all of the resorts. so keeping the cooler full of ice takes nothing more than a walk to the ice machine.

That's exactly what we did for our 10 day stay in December except we bought it at Lowes. They had them for $60 and we drove so we took it with us. We figure my daughter can use it in 2 years when she goes to college. We kept milk for cereal each day and some water and gatorade. We actually didn't drink near as much as we planned because it was so DANG COLD!!! :cold: Our trip previous to that was in August so I guess we forgot just how cold it can get in December! Anyway, it fit just fine in our room at Pop and while we didn't use it a lot, I'm glad we had it.

Thanks to you for responding ... I think we'll just get a cooler and fill it with ice each night!!! Thanks again!!!

I've had fridges at the AKL and Poly, and all they would hold is about 6 cans of pop and about 10 cans of beer. Freezer secvtion wouldn't hole 3 popsicles. In the past, when fridge weren't free, we always took a cooler from home when driving, and other trips we purchased a styrofoam cooler for .99 and gave it away when it was time to leave. Alot of free ice at the resorts and the styrofoam works better then the coleman type hard plastic. One tip: Purchase some large zip lock freezer bags, biggest you can find and put your ice in them, keeps water out of your food, easier to change and drain.
