Can someone give me an update on the cost to rent a refrigerator. I will be staying at the Pop Century and I was told it was $10.00/night, but on another website I saw $15.00/night. Did it go up?

Ana

I believe they went up when they became free for all the other resorts except the values....

Wow,
I think for the amount of days I will be staying (15 days) at Disney I can buy a one instead :earseek:

When I made my reservations, I requested a refridgerator. Can I cancel this request when I check-in? I think it's a little too pricey for my 10 day stay. (like a previous poster said, I might as well just buy mini one)

I beleive you can cancel your request when you check in, but to be on the safe side, I would call & cancel now. It is cheaper to purchase a mini one & bring it when you go..... each time :sunny:

When you say a Mini one? are you talking about the kind for your car or are you talking about a dorm size one? Just curious.

It depends on what you want to carry.... I have the one for the car & to be honest, I end up using my cooler too when there are 4 of us. If it is just me & my one daughter, I can get by with the car one. I will use it only for cold cuts & some milk then we get the refillable mugs for our soda drinks. When we stay offsite, we use the larger cooler for cold cuts, milk & soda. We just change out the ice every day.....I cannot carry one of the mini dorm ones. The majority of the time my husband stays home & it is just me & my DD's and one of their friends.

At www.abbf.com you can rent a mini fridge (dorm size) for $45 for a week. We rented a stroller from them last year and they were very professional and nice to deal with.

I actually called yesterday to the all star resort and they said it was $10 a night.. which is CRAZY, guess I'll be using the ice bucket everynight... they do have ice machines (please say they are free?)? :confused3

Things you can request:
Non-smoking rooms
Connecting Rooms
Bed boards and bed rails
Refrigerators (additional charge, unless for Medical Reasons only)Cribs
Hair dryers
Iron and ironing board
The showers have shampoo, conditioner, and bodywash dispensers.

I just read that and I wasn't going to spend the extra money for a frig, as nice as it would be, but dumby I forgot my husband is a diabetic and has to keep his insulin cold... does anyone know if they would wave the cost for it? I guess I could call, but before I do does anyone know?

Jaime

*thanks linda, can't wait... only 5 months, 6 days, 18 hours and 25 minutes left.... yes i have a count down counter, that's how excited I am :cheer2: )

They would consider that a medical reason, but the refigerators they use for medical reasons are pretty small. The insulin will fit in but not much more. Put in 1 bottle of water and the fridge is full. They may also check to make sure it is being used for medical reasons only.

Not to be rude but to me this is considered an invasion of privacy. I personally would not want someone opening my fridge to make sure that my medial supplies are in there. That is just not apporiate in my book. Perhaps if you had a different medical condiation and need to keep a different medience cold you might not want a noset Mousekeeper looking around. JMHO

I also rented from ABBF before and it was a great experience.

Oh well one bottle of water is all I planned on putting on ice! And they can check it, even though I do think that's like them going through my clothes to make sure I pass all the dress codes... but he does have to keep it cold and we planned on putting a bottle of water on ice all night and taken with us to the park, so even if they checked the frig during the day it won't have the water in it... :rolleyes1

Thanks Everyone!!

Yes, but my question is, Would WDW allow you too rent a fridge and bring it into the Resort?

I went to that website and they have a "faq" section which tells you that yes, they deliver (for FREE) anything on their list to your resort and I'm sure your resort would be used to dealing with these kind of things. Especially one that doesn't have a frig in the room! They bring them to you and they pick them up... you do nothing!

We also rented a fridge from ABBF and it was a great experience. Very nice size, prcatically brand new, ran quiet, very clean, and held a lot of stuff. There's a photo on their website. For the week it was $45, and I don't think the cost goes up much if you need it longer. The real nice part was it was at in the luggage room waiting for us upon arrival, and we returned it to the LR when we left the resort. ABBF picked it up from there.

Regarding the question of the resorts 'allowing' it, I was assured by ABBF they do it all the time, and I even called POP and they said no problem. We really enjoyed the fridge and was definately worth the $$, and not hassling with the ice.
