Just wondering if anyone knows if the small refridgerators that come in the rooms at the Poly work well or not. Last year we stayed at the WL and found that the only way the fridge there would stay cold is to open the door of the cabinet it was to allow air to flow around it. The problem was sometimes the mousekeepers would close it and all of my things there spoiled. I don't want to spend the money on grocery delivery if I will have the same problem. :confused3

Not sure about the fridges at the Poly in particular, however, I know that they have recently removed the temperature control knob inside the fridges. I read some of the reports before our last trip about them being anything BUT cold and thought maybe people were exagerating, but our trip in May proved they were NOT. However, if you have a pair of needle nose pliers, it's easy to take out the stopper covering where the temp knob WAS and adjust it with the pliers by turning the 'stick' right inside the hole. (We actually had to turn it down because it froze our pasta! ) We just turned it back down before we left.:thumbsup2

We were at the Poly last October and our fridge worked fine if you left the cabinet doors open. It just seemed to make thing colder.

We stayed at the Poly last July and were less than impressed with the fridges. They did keep things cold but unless the items were already cold, it took about a day to get them nice and cold.

Yes, leave the doors open at night. There is no way for the fridge to vent with the doors shut. The food and drinks were plenty cold.

at our YC stay last year, they had cut the back panel out of the dresser, so there was a way for the air to move around from the back. The front was slightly "grated", so overall, it seemed to work pretty well.

I guess this is not the case everywhere...maybe they'll change it if they can in some of these places?

Ditto, this was our experience last November. But if we turned the thermostat to the coldest setting, things started to freeze a bit.

The fridge my family and I had at the Polynesian worked well and we did not need to do anything which made it work any better.

We were there last month and we didn't have to leave the doors open either. It worked perfectly and we never did anything special with it. We kept lots of milk in there throughout the trip and it was nice and cold, a bit colder than our fridge at home actually. I was surprised because in the past we had to leave those doors open for it to work, I wondered if they improved them somehow.

I just bumped up the thread where I posted a picture of the inside of our fridge from last month:

We went in September last year, and we definitely had to leave the cabinet open. And the fridge did not keep things very cold.

By contrast, at BWI in 04, everything in our fridge froze! LOL Can't win fer losin!

We got back three weeks ago (from the Poly) and the fridge worked well, although you could not adjust the temp anymore because the knob and stem had been removed and covered with a sticker...

We've never had any issue's with the frig's at Poly. Everything was cold that we had put into it.
