Hi everyone!
Planning our second Disney cruise- booked a last minute VGT on the Dream February 3!

I have a few questions

1. I requested that our family (4) be seated alone. Would this show under "special requests" on the DCL page? I understand it's just a request, just wondering if it's something I would see

2. Will the photographers use our cameras for pictures? I can't remember from last time

3 should I be freaking out that we haven't received documents yet?? I was told they are processing ... I do realize I booked only about 1 1/2 weeks ago and things take time . . .
Last cruise we booked months in advance

Thanks so much! I have really enjoyed reading the boards and all the tips

You won't see these show up anywhere on your reservation online, but if you call and ask they can tell you what special notes are on your reservation.

For pictures with the characters, they will take pictures with your personal camera. For the professional photo shoots I don't believe they will.

Sorry can't help with this one!

You won't see your request on your reservation notes. As the pp indicated, you can call to make sure it is noted. But if you want to know if you got your request, when you get onboard, you can go to where dining changes are scheduled (it will be listed on your Navigator) and check with the head server there to see what size table you were seated at. Alternately, if you go to whichever Main Dining room is open for embarkation lunch, you can look at the table #'s there and see what size table you are at (your table # is on your KTTW card).

As far as documents, don't stress. It does take them a couple of weeks to process. Even with booking a year ahead, I never seem to get my documents until 2-3 weeks before the trip (and no, they are not slowed down by going to a travel agent first). Even if you do not get your document booklet, you will be fine. Do your online check-in and print out the pages. If you don't get your documents before you leave, you'll have to get luggage tags once you arrive. The porters at the terminal will have them. If you happen to be heading to the port from a WDW resort, you can get them from the DCL rep at the resort. (Unfortunately, they usually aren't there before they pick up luggage from your room so you would most likely have to bring your luggage with you to the meeting spot, tag them and put them under the bus. But from there your luggage would be handled until it reaches your stateroom door later that afternoon.)

Have a good cruise!

I just wanted to add that although the formal photographers might not use your own camera, they won't stop you from doing it. I realize this means leaving out one person, but often they break the group into subgroups anyway, just the kids, mother and children, etc. so you could get pictures of everything except the full group by rotating your camera around between the members of your family that aren't in that pose.
