refresh my memory on AAA rate / free dining?

It would be nice, but no--the discount is the free dining. They do not discount the room portion of the stay on the free dining promotion, so no AAA rate and free dining together.

I thought you could do dinning if you did DVC? If that is the case can you do AAA? What does the park pass discount run with AAA? looking for a 9 or 10 day park hopper.

You do not qualify for free dining if you stay at a DVC resort but you can purchase the DDP if you stay at a DVC resort. Same with AAA - only one discount at a time - free dining by paying rack rate and buying a full price one day ticket OR get AAA room discount and no free dining.

I belong to AAA and our regional office has never sold more than a 4 day hopper - it was always cheaper for us to buy from ticketmania or undercovertourist.

Should have been more clear. I'm staying at DVC rented points in October and I'm paying for dinning. Just looking for a way to save a little cash on park passes. taking DW / 3 DD's / DM (Disney MOM?) / DSF (Disney Step Father) for 9 days so it's gotten a tad expensive.

Just posted this on another thread. You can in fact get a AAA discount on a package through AAA travel agencies and if free dining is available you can get free dining . I was not able to do this due to my travel dates but my friend who is going in Sept did get the AAA DISCOUNTED rate package with free dining.

You cannot get both the AAA discount and free dining. It is one or the other, not both. If you look on the Disney website, they specifically say,

Important Details
No group rates or other discounts apply

Now AAA will sell you the free dining, but you will pay rack rate for the room. That's how it is with all the offers through Disney whether it's for free park hoppers and water parks or free dining or something else.

is there any way you could PM me your friends agent's name or AAA office? The one I called said that the first week of free dining is SOLD OUT (which is untrue) and can't be booked through AAA

I am not sure about this. Our AAA agent insisted we were getting both the free dining and AAA discount, but when we did the math, we were only getting the free dining regardless of the agent's insistence to the contrary.

I think some AAA agents sincerely believe that they are getting clients the AAA package discount and the free dining, but the numbers just don't seem to add up.
