It seems like years ago that we did our GAD project, but it is nearly time for us to head to WDW! :cool1:

Can someone remind me what to do with our vouchers when we arrive? we're just going for one day this year, so no need to upgrade tickets. We just need to get in the park and also purchase a ticket for our little guy (who was too young for the GAD program).

What ID do I need to bring for my kids? Where do we go to redeem the vouchers? Anything else special I need to know?

Thanks!

You need to bring birth certificates (copies ok) for your kids and drivers licenses for adults.

You go to the "Will Call" booth at the main ticket entrances and give them your vouchers with the above identification.

copy as in scanning it on my scanner or photocopy or copy as in getting a copy from city hall with a stamp on it? I'd hate to carry our passport to DL

There is an entire sub-forum under the Theme Parks Attractions and Strategies Forum. You will find the answers there. Also, check Post #16 of the locked sticky Everything About WDW Tickets in the TPA&S Forum, which you can get to by following the link in my signature.

I forgot all about the copies of kiddo's BC, but one DS had his picture school ID and so they went ahead and gave me the vouchers for both DSs.

BUT for some reason after changing one of DS's voucher into a ticket I saved it for the following day -- big mistake since the tickets are only valid for THAT DAY. I tried three different people (will call, regular ticket window, & Cust. Service) and they all said 'sorry, it is no longer valid'. Completely wasted an entire day's ticket...I hate it when I do stupid things!

Yes, the GAD ticket has to be used for admission on the date that it is redeemed or it is invalid. The question about redeeming the night before to save time in the morning is frequently asked, but it must be used for admission on the date redeemed. The exception would be upgrading to an AP - the AP would have an effective date of the redemption date, but you wouldn't need to actually use it that day.

You got some pixie dust by allowing the school ID to serve as ID for your DS. :goodvibes The voucher specifically states that school IDs are not accepted. You must have a government issued ID or for kids, you can use a birth certificate or copy. Glad it worked out for you, though! :)

Remember that when you upgrade the voucher tickets to multi day, that they should take off the price of a one day ticket..~$80...
we had a ticket person telling us it was the last day that was taken off..so ~$5 off price..
We ended up upgrading the second day at Epcot...and there was no problem..the person took off the $80 off the total price..
I was glad I had read the Dis and knew.

Go to the Will Call window with your IDs and they will give you your tickets and some GAD buttons to wear.

Are you using them as tickets or turning them in for FP? We turned ours in for FPs and it was a the best thing we ever did! We didn't have to wait in line for the rides except maybe 5-8 minutes.

I had the kids passports as IDs and we used our driver's licenses. Have fun!!

My big question is about the online form. It requests a date that you will be going to the parks. I know what week we are going but not sure which day. I'm afraid to state a definite date and not be able to use it on any other day.

Any help is appreciated.

The date is optional. It is just for marketing purposes. You can leave it off, and if you choose to fill it in, you are not bound by that. :goodvibes

Thank you for all the replies!

We'll be using our vouchers for tickets - it's how we're affording to "sneak" a little Disney into our beach vacation this year. :)

I'll be making copies of the birth certificates this week so they are ready to go for next week!

If you use them for fast passes, how many fast passes do you get????

Stitchandpooh's, Thank you. I was really nervous to do anything and ruin our tickets.

Hope everyone has a great GAD trip!

You get a total of 6 each for up to 5 people.
3 rides from the Daisy Group and 3 rides from the Donald Group.
You can pick whatever rides you want in each group.

I had 5 vouchers and we were there 5 days so I used one ticket a day for each park we attended and it worked out great with all the crowds. There was really no need for a touring plan because we were able to do what we wanted. We did EMH on two days and got there early enough though that we didn't need a few of our tix, and at Epcot, we did all the rides and tours and then just went around the countries. So, we ended up surprising many people with our fastpasses and that was REALLY fun. :)

You can find all the FP exchange card info here:

http://www.oinc.net/disney/fastpass.php#gad

Officially, each person in your group, up to a maximum of six people, can receive a FP card as long as the voucher holder has a valid multi-day ticket (or AP) and eveyone else in your group has some form of valid admission.

Unofficially, many people have reported receiving more than six FP cards if they had more than 6 people in their group.

Good information. Tough decision if the fastpasses would be worth it when we go in October...hmmmm
