Refilling Bean Bag Chairs?

I am a third grade teacher and I have several bean bag chairs on the carpet in my classroom. The chairs are a few years old and have lost their "puffiness" - they are very flat. The covers are still in good condition, though. Is there a store that sells refill materials for bean bag chairs (foam pellets, etc.)? I searched online and found that many online stores sell them, but even when the cost of the pellets is decent, the shipping cost is astronomical (because the bag is so big). So I am looking to buy them locally. I was thinking of a craft store like JoAnn Fabrics or Michael's, but neither of the online stores carried them, so I am guessing that local stores wouldn't either. Has anyone seen foam pellets in stores? I would hate to get rid of these bean bags when the covers are still in good condition, and I definitely don't want to pay for all new ones! Thanks for any recommendations!

Could you fill them with packing peanuts? What about shredded paper? Could you buy a couple of cheap bed pillows and cram them inside? Or some batting or pillow filling?

I've always wondered why bean bags get so flat. I want some for my classroom, but the ones in our school library didn't last 6 months without going flat. None of the kids want to use them now.

Couple of years ago I found a BIG bag of pellets at a Meijers in NW Ohio. Think it was around $10 at the time. As I recall, at the time they were carrying a lot of bean bag furniture and it was back to school time......

I remember my mom using packing peanuts to refill her bean bag chair. She worked in a bookstore and they were always getting the packing peanuts in the boxes, so she had free filling!
I wonder if some store would save them for you?
Or can you buy them someplace that sells mailing supplies?

Any fabric/craft store should have them. Rag Shops had them (but they are long gone) I would check a Jo Ann fabrics if you have one. Good luck

Our furniture stores carry them. Maybe you should see if they carry them or can order them for you.
