refillable popcorn at WDW?

Our last trip to WDW was a year ago where we purchased a popcorn bucket at EPCOT. I thought it was able to be refilled at any park. Well last month we were in Disneyland and was not able to, they dont do refills I guess, even though a cast member at CA adventure told me it was only at Disneyland. My question is , Does WDW still have the refillable buckets? Is it all parks? I dont want to bring our bucket on the plane if not. TIA

The refillable bucket is sold for “length of stay.” Some folks have had luck bringing back old buckets, but I believe they’re cracking down and have changed the bucket design recently.

That said, the refillable bucket is valid at the Florida parks. I wouldn’t expect it to span the continent. That wouldn’t be the same stay, would it?

Yes, you can get it at WDW and it will be for all four parks, maybe the water parks, in Florida.

The only refillable popcorn bucket for DLR/DCA is the AP bucket, which is currently the LGM bucket (sold out now). That one costs $1 for refills and is only for AP holders (so you have to show your AP to purchase and AP to refill)

It became such a problem that Disney is now buying what is called hyper-GMO corn - each kernel has a microchip inside that withstands popping. If the coding on the microchip does not match the coding of the chip in your bucket (coded at the time of purchase) the popcorn is designed to jump (or "pop," if you will) right out of the bucket and onto the ground, rendering useless any bucket that has been brought back for a trip subsequent to the trip of purchase. You've probably seen CMs do a test pour in some buckets, to determine if the bucket will reject the popcorn or not. This is why.

I'm a popcorn junkie and love that I can refill at WDW. Last summer when we went to Disneyland I was bummed only AP could do it.

DCL will take any type of bucket. I was in the parks a few days before cruise and got the bucket and took it with us on Cruise. The CM told me I could use the parks one I just bought.

Yes, you can get it at WDW and it will be for all four parks, maybe the water parks, in Florida.

I noticed that in March 2017, we were able to get popcorn bucket refills at Wide World of Sports during Spring Training. Sorry, I can't confirm about the water parks for refills.
