I am staying at Boardwalk villas and beach club villas next month. I rented points from a DVC member. My question is do either of these resorts participate in the refillable mug program. I am getting conflicting informations from different sites. One board states mugs are $11.95 and offer free refills and another states $11.95 and you pay a certain price for a refill, but get 4 ounces more if you purchase the mug. I also read that at BCV refills are at Hurricane Hanah's which closes at 6pm. What if I am thirsty after 6pm, do I have to pay full price somewhere else. I also read that Beaches and cream is a refill site for both these resorts. Any help would be appeciated...Thanks

You might want to try posting this on the DVC board. I'm sure someone would have an answer for you. Although I'm a DVC member I've never purchased the refillable mugs because I make a grocery trip and use the fridge. All DVC rooms including the studios have them.

the mugs are $11.95 and good for FREE refills the length of your stay at the hotel they are bought from. If you have a food court at your hotel thats were I believe you get the refills from.

Hopefully, this link will help you with your questions.

how much is a typical soda from a value resort food court? (i checked the menus at allearsnet and could not find drink prices other than espresso and smoothies) whether or not we purchase a mug will depend on whether or not we will get our money's worth... so, i have to figure how often we will be eating at the food court, multiply that by the price of the drinks and decide if it is less than what we would spend on individual drinks...

Five sodas pretty much covers the cost of the mug.

I think the drinks were about $2 apiece at the Pop Century about two weeks ago. I bought the mugs, and we were there for 4 nights. I don't think we used them for meals so much as just something to keep running over to the food court for frozen coke. ;) It seemed like almost everyone at the Pop had these mugs, so they must work out to be a good deal. Remember, you cannot get milk or juice with them though. I think it really depends on how you feel about spending the money for these mugs in the first place. You probably come out way cheaper buying a 12 pack of cokes, but it's just a lot of fun to breeze into the food court and fill your mug up, especially when you're already at the pool area!

I forgot to add---a 12 pack of Cokes was 2 for $5 at the Hess gas stations inside WDW while we were there. So that may help you reach a decision. I warn you though, if you take kids they will want what they see!

for the cost of 5 sodas, i'm thinking we will just buy 'em... we'll be at pop for 8 days so i'm sure w/all our pool time, we'll get our money's worth...

last time we bought two for four of us... kids were little and did not drink much... basically kids/i shared and dh had his own (isn't that always the way?! LOL!)
