We are going to WDW in July, and we will be staying at the Contemporay. We were wondering about the drinks available to put in the refillable mugs. None of our triplet daughters like carbonated drinks. We were wondering what and if they have anything that is not carbonated? If we buy mugs for my wife and I the girls will want one too. We are not sure it is worth it if there is nothing they will drink. Can anybody tell me whats available?

Thanks TripletDad. :Pinkbounc :Pinkbounc :Pinkbounc

Our kids don't drink carbonated beverages either. We stayed at AKL and they had High C Fruit punch, plus Iced Tea (sweet and unsweet). We purchased four mugs. With the kids only drinking Fruit Punch (plus being 4 and 6yrs they don't drink that much) I don't think it was worth it for us. I read someone suggesting getting two mugs and splitting up the drink once you are back at your room (or sharing one amongst your girls - if they would do that) Maybe that would work.

Well, I do remember seeing non-carbonated lemonade and fruit punch in the fountain drink dispensers at the resorts I have stayed at. I myself do not like carbonated soft drinks either, so I never really found the mugs worth it for me. They do sell bottled water and other types of non-carbonated drinks at the resorts, but that can get costly too. We bought a case of inexpensive bottled water and snapple cans on our last trip and that worked great for us.

I thought I had the only kid in the world that does not like non-carbonated drinks!

We stayed at the Contemporary last April and my son was able to get lemonade in his refillable mug.

Someone correct me if I'm wrong but I've also read there are refillable "slushies" at the Contemporary. I hope so as we're looking forward to that!:D

The slushie machiene is there, but it is "off limits" for free refills. There is one at the GF also and it is kept separately from the rest of the beverageso to not be a temptation!

Our children too do not like carbonated soft drinks. So it was not worth it to buy them the mugs since they basically drink water, milk or juice and the juice they offer they don't like. So, we just bought mugs for my husband and myself and it was definately worth it for us to buy the mugs for ourselves.:D

On our last trip we were able to use the mugs for coffee and hot chocolate. Does anyone know if that is still true?

All you lucky parents with kids that don't like carbonated drinks. It's so hard to keep them away from that stuff.

We made the mistake of getting the mugs for our kids. They will drink carbonated beverages occasionally, but usually prefer milk and juice. You can get High-C and lemonade and water, but another consideration is this...If you are i a large resort like the POR, you have to tote your mugs back and forth to fill them, and if you plan on doing breakfast, and going directly to the buses, you have to tote them all day! It was woth it for us, as you can use them for coffee, as well as iced tea. We often would fill up and go to the resort pool. But for the kids...I would skip it. My SIL brought a small cooler, and put a few juices and milk Chugs in each night (juice from home, milk from cafeteria), and filled it with ice. The kids had what they wanted cold each morning, and she took it to the parks in the stroller too.

Have fun!
