Refillable Mugs?

I've always wanted to start a refillable mug thread . When you stay at Ft. Wilderness do you feel like you get a lot of use out of the mugs? We get refillable mugs during almost every trip to WDW, but this is our first time camping. I'm debating between stocking the fridge with sodas or getting refillable mugs. We'll be in the 300 loop so I'm not sure how convenient the refill station(s) are . Thanks for any advice!

Oh, and we'll be going to a few places away from Disney on a few mornings. If we did get refillable mugs, could we stop the car on our way out to refill before we left the campground? Like are there places to park the car or would we have to essentially just walk there from the camper and then come back?

the "trails end" is pretty close to 300 loop that is one of the fill stations and the other is the snack bar at the main pool. make it nice when you are out looping on the golf carts to stop in and get a refill.

It all depends on how much YOU would use it...

For those people who drink coffee like I do, one of the best deals in the campground is the refillable mugs. Buy a mug at Trails End for and fill it up anytime you want for your entire visit. At Trails End you can select coffee or fountain cold drinks. At the Meadows Trading Post I think coffee is it now (someone correct me, but I thought they stopped the hot chocolate) are the choices. The snack bar at the main pool is open with limited hours (seasonally). By the end of my last 5 day visit, my cost for a cup of coffee was down to about a quarter.

If you were driving out there are 15 minute parking spaces outside the meadows. You could stop there and grab coffee on your way out.

I got them then didnt use them. I was in the 2500 loop last time so no refill stations were around me.

No mugs here either. We have our own drinks and if we are looping or going to the pool, I take the little cooler with a few extra. I have a few big insulated mugs like those from other theme parks, Chic Fil-A, etc. (my fave says "Cancer Sucks") that I fill up with ice tea at the site and take that with me. It lasts a long while and when I run out, I either have a little to refill in the cooler or I just loop back to the site. $75 is a dinner out..a t-shirt or two. Mugs not worth it IMO.

the worst thing we have found were the the terrible hours of the refill stations. They were not open when we left for the park and allready closed when we came back.

I will agree there. WDW needs to extend the store hours.

We always get the mugs -- we use them every day for our morning coffee.ll

We find that we get a lot of use out of them on our trip -- the kids love making their own little concoctions at the drink station, and we get more than our money's worth in coffee in the mornings on the way to the parks or in the evenings before the fireworks. For us it's a no-brainer -- a well-loved keepsake that is useful during our trip as well.

In general don't expect to find many parking spaces at the Fort. Your campsite, the overflow lot up front, and the 15 minute parking near the Meadows trading posts are the only places to park cars. Golf carts have a little more latitude, with parking at the Settlement, the Meadows, the pool, Outpost and Settlement bus stops, as well as your campsite.

We didn't think we would use ours since we have our food and beverages at our site, however, we used them much more than we thought. We took them to the pool and we drove the golf cart to Trails end almost every morning and night for coffee/hot chocolate.

We bought them just for our kids. They made a lot of trips to the pool while we were making dinner, cleaning up camp, etc. We were in the 1500 loop, so we were close to the pool. Otherwise it may not have been worth it. Our kids are just getting to the age where they need a little independence, and they thought it was pretty cool they could go off on their own. We didn't purchase any for the adults, though. When we stay at Pop Century we use them all the time. At the campground we wouldn't have gotten our money's worth.

And what's with the filling station at the pool putting your pop into a paper cup first, then having you dump it into your mug? We saw A LOT of cups go immediately into the trash bin. What a waste. Why can't they just take your mug and fill it? Not very environmentally friendly on Disney's part.
