Refillable Mugs?

My family and I have never gotten the refillable mugs but we're thinking of trying it out during our next trip. Where exactly can we use them? We'll be staying at CBR...can they only be filled at the resort you're staying, or can we bring them to the parks and use them at CS restaurants? We're looking at the available dining plans and trying to decide between the QSDP and the DDP. I think I've heard before that the mugs can only be used at the resort where you're staying, but since the Quick Service plan comes with one per person, I was wondering if they changed that rule and allow those who have them to fill up at CS locations?

They are only supposed to be used at your resort during that stay. There are many threads about this, and it tends to become a heated topic.

Do regular DDP, and the mugs are awesome, and they are a touchy subject on here, we normally only get like 2 mugs for a family of 4 and just kind of share them, normally one of us doesn't have a drink and well they don't give it to you the mug sometimes so yea....though i will probably get flamed for saying that, so sorry

According to what is written on the mugs, you are only allowed to use them at the resort you booked, for your length of stay.

They are not good in the parks. We get them with the QSDP and I enjoy having them. It is nice to have a few cups of coffee (I know..it's not that good but hey, it works) before heading off to the park and getting one when we return at night.

To the OP: The mugs are to be used at your resort. You *could* use them at the quick service spots at other Disney resorts if you so desired. Though they are not meant to be used that way, they all look alike and there's no one monitoring this. It is NOT possible to use them at the CS locations in the parks.

We love the mugs just as souvenirs. With the tops that you get, they're great to take in the car or to the pool. Plus, I'm reminded of our vacation every time I use one of them.

Do you (or does anyone else) know if they ARE all the same now? I seem to recall that for the last couple trips that we went to Coronado Springs theirs were different from those that we'd gotten at CBR 3 years ago (and I think those are the same as everywhere?).

Would love to know if anyone has any info!

Reports are that Coronado Springs now has the generic Disney mugs. Their food service options are not operated by Disney, so for a long time they had their own mugs.
