Refillable Mugs

Has anyone noticed a switch to new ones in any of the resorts the past week? We leave in a week and normally go down this time of year. Sometimes we get the year before mugs and some years it is new mugs. Last year, there were only the light blue ones when we arrived but by the time my parents left 3 weeks later the new ones had started to show up and then my sister got the red ones with the different color tops in December. Thanks for any info!

I wish I knew the answer to this. Doing the qs dinning plan and want to get new mugs when we go in two weeks. I sure hope they change them soon because we have a ton of the recent ones!

Since WDW is still using the What Will You Celebrate phrase on their new add's about volunteering, in my opinion that means for 2010 they will keep selling the same mugs which they started selling sometime in early 2009.

That sounds Logical CR Fan! I was hoping for a change though. They only had three colors and there are four in our family and it would have been nice to have at least different handle colors.

This mug...if I buy it at my resort...CSR...I can take it with me to all the Parks, and refill it there.

No the refillable mugs are for the resorts only. You cannot refill mugs at the parks! Hope this helps!

So is it Resort specific or usable at the other resorts? Also, can you use the mugs, on the resorts, at with the DDP meals?

the cups we bought last May were one style and the new ones we bought in September were the same color but no white at the bottom for placing in a cup holder......YES we buy our cups every time we visit..
Because technically the cups are for your length of stay.....Period

Disney policy on the refillable mugs is that they are to be used for the resort they are purchased in......with the exception of ALL star resorts.......all three are allowed to hop...
and Port Orleans French Quarter and Port Orleans Riverside.....

I think the mugs can be useful to take to the parks...even though you can't refill them there. They give you such a large amount of soda with your QS meals. We usually drink about half the soda, then pour the rest in a mug to sip on for a little while...much easier than carrying around the paper cups...and the mugs are insulated so the drink stays cooler.

BTW some of the parks sell refillables. AK, for instance. Also, the water parks have refillable mugs.

Every time I've gone, we've filled our mugs on our way out in the morning (we don't drink coffee, so our caffeine comes from soda, lol). Packed ziplock bags in our pack, and rinsed the mugs out in the park when they were empty and put them in the bags. Then when we returned to our resort at the end of the night (assuming it was before midnight and the soda bar was open), we could refill our mugs before going to our room.

I do like the idea a PP said about putting the soda you don't finish from a QS meal in them!

We have been going for the past several years at the end of Dec and two weeks into Feb and they never have the new mugs out. This year we are going in Nov so hopefully we will get new mugs then.

Folks, the mugs can only be used at the resort where you are staying for the length of your stay.

refillable mugs are great....
We have coffee in the morning at the food courts usually...We rinse them out in their little sinks and wipe them down.......
Hubby always carrys the backpack with cameras and extra items we may need and those cups fit in fine....If we go back to the resort to go for a swim or somethng ....we fill them up again and love this convenience of having them in our backpacks.
