another ? I don't remember the refillable mugs - are they good at all parks and what locations refill them????????

Refillable mugs are available at all Disney resorts for the price of $11.99. All mugs (except those at Coronado Springs) are the same generic style, so you are able to use them at all Disney resorts. You are unable to use them in the parks, but they are definitely worth it; they pay for themselves in ~3 refills. :)

So can we fill them with soda? at our resort and them take them to the parks and refill them with water later? We were going to bring water bottles for the parks, but these look nicer - especially with the holders.

I know that some people do this, but I just can't imagine doing it. They just seem so big and bulky to cart around -- they'd take up a bunch of space in a backpack, for example. And unlike a bottle of water, you can't close and seal the lid, meaning that you can't carry a half-filled mug in a backpack.

In the parks, you can get free cups of ice water at all counter-service restaurants ... just ask for some.

Yes!

I'm not quite sure what you mean by this.. the ones we bought have a lid that seals shut..?

I have taken mine to the parks after breakfast. Then, when I eat lunch, or dinner, I usually have a lot of soda left over. So, I just pour it in the refill mug and sip on it as I walk around.

Signage at the resort drink stations indicates that you are only supposed to fill your mug at the resort where it was purchased for the length of your stay, not all Disney resorts.

Here's a picture of the mugs from 2007. The ones for this year are the same except they don't have the date.

You can use your mug at any resort on any trip. Gracious, I just saw someone with a Dixie Landings mug at Port Orleans Riverside (the new name for Dixie Landings). No mug police came running and took them out.

The young cast member at POP TOLD my children to use their old mugs when they came back because he missed the old design.

Have a great trip and use your mugs!

The only Resort where the Year of a Million Dreams mugs can not be used is at Corondao Springs, because their dining locations are not owned by WDW and because they are the only Resort that sells their Resort logo mugs.

The mugs used to have printed right on them that they are to be used for that one trip at the one resort it was purchased at.

Here are some pictures of the 2007 mugs...

The only difference is the current mugs do not specify the year. :)

The part that gets confusing for a lot of people is that there are CMs who don't do their jobs properly. As posted on the signs at the places the mugs are purchased, and as printed on the mugs themselves, they are good only during the stay during which they are purchased. The CMs at the resort level are not empowered to set a different policy.

People have to make up their own minds about "right and wrong," but Disney's corporate policy on refillable mug use is very clear, as is printed on the signs and on the mugs themselves.

I'm not trying to debate "right and wrong," I'm merely saying that CMs at resort food courts may have their own opinions, but they are not in charge of setting or changing policies.

I have two older ones... One from AKL from when it first openned and one from WL (both from 2001)... I don't see the print...

Anyway, we have used our mugs for other trips (but always at the same resort)... We did this when were unaware of the policy... Never saw the sign that someone mentioned either (not that we were looking)... We really did not know we were doing anything wrong if we used the mug at the resort we purchased it from... No one ever said anything to us.... I am not suggesting for someone to break the rules and we will not in the future... Just wanted to make the point some people may break the rules without knowing that they are and it does not make them bad people trying to get away with something... I know that if we were told by a CM that we could not reuse the mug we would have followed the policy... But in two additional trips to WL and one to AK, no one ever said a thing.
