Refillable Mugs @ Universal

I believe I read somewhere that Universal offers refillable mugs inside the parks, can this be true? I think I only saw this in print once, so I'm skeptical. Extremely excited we're leaving tomorrow.

Yes they do and they are forever refillable, not just for your one trip.

there are two programs about the mugs.


one is found on the UO website of buying the refillable cup and it is good only for that day you buy it. i think there might be a wristband for it, there is one for the meal deal program,

check the section about the meal deal and that is where you will find it.


i have posted this before about the refills on the mugs
if you have one of the universal mugs, you can get a refill at a special price of about $1.25. i use my ap for the 10% discount also on that.

if you don't have a mug, you can buy one in the park but you have to carry it around with you all the time.

The only mug I see online ist the one that is good for one day. Is the unlimited one only available in the park? How much is the unlimited number of days mug?

They are called souvenier mugs and they are forever refillable!!! Yes - FOREVER!!!! Here is the one we got in April and it really helped with the 3 kids and needing drinks. Also if you have AAA remember to use it everyewhere in the parks and citywalk - to refill it came to like 1.45 or so.

we have this monster.....pita carrying that around. once we decided on no stroller this trip (and we were flying so packing light) Sponge & Pat stayed home:

When we went in october we brought it and no one wanted to carry it good thing we rented a stroller then!!! btw, that mug is from our trip in 2003 and still refillable in 2006

Not sure about a shrek mug. But yes, just did this last week and it is by far one of the best deals there. 6.99 for the first then 74 cent re-fills thereout. Very good deal, beats losing 2.50 or more a pop everytime.

you will not see the souvenier mugs on the UO website stating about the refills.

it is something people find out by reading about it here on the boards or if an employee tells you when you buy the mug.

i have been using mine for years. as long as it can hold liquid, they will fill it and you pay the refill price.

just like spidey 7 posted, it is one of the best deals!


one suggestion: if you buy the mug, make sure it has a handle so you can loop it on a belt or shoulder strap. your hands will be free then.
they come with the plastic lid and straw.
if you lose your straw, you can have it replaced (free) at the park. (or at least last time i did that.)

Okay, let me see if I've got this straight ... do not buy the refillable mug that is promoted on the website, unlimited free refills but good for one day only.

Do ask at one of the parks for the refillable mug that is good forever, paying one price for the mug and refills that are pretty cheap, even cheaper if you have AAA.

I was all set to buy 4 of the mugs promoted on the website, one for each of the kids for each of the 2 park days.

Still leaves the question of who will carry the mug(s)? No belts, bags, shoulder straps or stroller. Yeah, I'll figure that out later. Thanks for the tip!!

I'm still debating on that Meal Deal anyhow. It would be a great deal for DS12. I honestly don't know where all the food goes that he eats. DH wants to get it for himself too. As for DS7 and myself, I don't know if we could eat enough to feel that it was worth it. He only eats PB&J and I've been eating smaller portions woohoo: Yeah me! I've lost 12 of the 25 pounds I've set as a goal to lose.)

Almost every drink stand/counter service restaurant sells them. Gift shops sell them as well. Every time I go to a Sea World/Busch Gardens/Universal, I make sure to bring a refillable mug. You can get them filled with FREE ice water if you ask.
