We are not on any type of dining plan.. Are there refillable mugs I can purchase and what are the prices? Is it free refills?

Yes you can purchase a refillable mug.
Last time I knew prices were about $16.95.
They are active for 2 weeks and can be used at the resorts only.
Yes free refills but for soda you have to wait at least 2 minutes between fills.

Personally I'd never buy one. I only get it if I'm on the dining plan.
I just don't spend enough time at the resorts to get good use out of it.
I'm always going out of my way to fill it when I do have it and depending on the resort and your room location it could be a hike.

We were not on the dining plan for our last trip, but did buy the mugs for 2 out of 3 of us. We ate breakfast at the resort and would fill the mugs at that time to start. We drove so we were able to stop to refill them coming and going from the resort. We totally got our money's worth out of them this way.

It was $80 for 4 when we got them (on the DP) I'd have probably bought at least 2 if we weren't on the DP just b/c my kids like them and I look at it as a souvenir as well. We kept one in the park bag to refill when we came back from the parks at night

Even though we spent most of our time in the parks last time, we still bought 2 of them for the 4 of us. We would fill them in the morning before we ate breakfast in our room and we would also fill them at night when we got back to the resort. I thought it was worth the money. Just note that they are not refillable inside the parks. I see people carrying them through the parks and often wonder why they are going through the hassle. Maybe they just didn't know they didn't work in the parks or maybe they just wanted to fill them with water.

We do the same, bought 2 for our family of 4, the kids get hot chocolate in the morning, we get some pop at night. I too wonder when I see people carrying them in the parks, I saw a father today carrying 4 around MK.

I think a lot of people have them because they swung through the food court on the way to the bus stop and got another coffee (or pop or whatever) to drink while waiting for the bus and starting their morning. Once you have it you have to hang on to it but that means on the way passed the food court back to your room at night you can fill up again with your evening drink (or mix) of choice.

That's what I like to do. We throw ours on the backpack or bottom of stroller. I like to leave with a drink and come home to one bc once I get back to room at night, I'm not going out again lol.
