I heard that there were to be refillable mugs for the parks... not just for use at the resorts. please oh please say this is true!

"mommy im STTUUUUUUURRRRSSSSTYYYYYY"

Animal Kingdom has them. I believe they come with some kind of dated ticket to limit use to day of purchase. But, I'm not 100% sure on that.

Typhoon Lagoon does as well...or at least they did last May. I assume Blizzard Beach does as well, unless the TL thing was just a test. It was pay for the day as well.

Not a far-fetched idea that these could go into the other parks.

The only 2 places that I've ever seen them is at Blizzard Beach and Typhoon Lagoon.

To add to the confusion, I heard the plan was to offer some sort of character and/or sponsored bottle top (a straw you can screw over the top of the Coke bottle). That would let you buy discounted "refill" bottles at certain locations, probably the outdoor vending carts. It's not the same as mugs. The rumored thinking was that if you had a mug of Coke and wanted to go on a ride you would just toss out the Coke knowing you could get more later for free. With the bottle cap and the charge, you're more likely just to seal the bottle. Given the number of guests this would represent a significant cost savings.

I hadn't thought of that, but it makes sense. I wonder if they learned this through the refillable mug program in the water parks?

No, probably not (I'm answering myself). On most of the slides in water parks, guests can't carry anything anyway, so they have to leave their mug somewhere. No point in dumping it out. (Unless it just got warm...)

We were in one of the parks last year, and it was a special that they were running for the day about buy a souvenir bottle, and free refills for the day (they gave us a receipt!)

:bounce:

Sounds good, now what I want to see is a Holiday World type thing. Hey, I can dream, right?
