We brought mugs from a previous year and decided it was worth asking if we could use them. The CM at Trails End said no problem! Enjoy your stay. The family used them the whole trip. I decided my beer coolie worked better for my choice of beverage.
We have wondered if you can use a mug from another resort. Next thing you know you will have something in your welcome packet stating "NO MUG HOPPING"![]()

I have to say that it does make the newbies feel unwelcome. There are lots of Disney sites with information only. However, the uniqueness of this "forum" is that it's a community.
By making people feel like they should have just searched, they do feel unwelcome.
And, they also might not get the most up-to-date information.
Just my two cents as a newbie.
