We just returned from a stay at BWV. The Bakery did not refill the mugs, but rather gave you the drink in a disposable cup- for sanitary reasons. Do other resorts do the same? There seems to be no point in offering the mugs if they are not going to refill them.

When we were at the BC in June/July and on previous trips to the BW they refilled the mugs -- we were down in Oct and they gave us the drink in a disposable cup. So my guess is that this changed sometime this summer.

On my last 2 trips they have never directly filled my BWV mug .
They aways gave me my coffee in a cup and then I put it in my mug. No big deal

I don't understand this , they are giving you a refill all you have to do is pour it in your mug. Please don't take this wrong.

While I was over at SAB walking I saw that Beaches and Cream was filling both BWV and BCV mugs. People would go in with empty mugs and come out with filled mugs.

Wonder why? We were at AKl in late July and they were still using the mugs. Is it only at the Epcot resorts they are doing this?

They were using paper cups for the free refills at Leaping Horse Libations as well. I have no problem with pouring the contents of the paper cup into my refillable mug. I just wonder about the economics of this practice. I always thought the empty paper cup was the most expensive part of a fountain soft drink, so the refill program made economic sense because ice and soft drink syrup were very inexpensive. If a new paper cup it needed for each refill, the economic analysis changes.

Why even sell the mug? They shoudl just have it added onto your room key or give you a card to show. Woudl save WDw on the price of the production for the mug.

We were at OKW 10/09 - 10/13 and they were refilling directly into the mugs as well as selling Glow in the Dark Halloween mugs. We have already packed our BW mugs for our Thanksgining trip home.

What a great idea! I never buy the mugs because it is a pain to cart them around. If they had a drink card like they do on a cruise, I would buy those for my kids.

While eating a slice of pizza near the take-out window, I noticed a women get a refill in a cup ,hand the full cup to a kid and get back in line.

You can still refill your mugs at the fountains in food courts etc...and the Boardwalk Bakery did fill the mug at the time of purchase.

Just curious.....do they do drink cards on the Disney cruises now ? We had the refillable mugs on our Wonder cruise last November. Just wondering if this changed or were you referring to alot of cruise lines in general as far as the drink card goes ?
Thanks

I was there last week and thought this was strange also. I asked why and was told that they could not take the mug over the counter. (yet they can take your money over the counter  ) Anyway I thought it strange because not only does it cost more (for all the cups) but it creates more garbage. I don't mind - the cups actually fit better on top of my stroller than the mugs - I just thought it odd.

This past May we purchased our mugs at the Bakery. My DH got coffee and every time he went to get a refill they handed him a cup full to pour into his mug. I went to Spoodles to get Ice tea and they took my mug put Ice in it and pour the Ice tea into it. I was never handed a paper cup for ice tea.
