Refillable Mugs and changing resorts

We will be changing resorts/rooms on our trip this month. We will go two days with no meal plan about half way through the trip. Will our drink cup still work? Can we upgrade it to length of stay?

We had a three resort stay during our recent trip: 1 night All Star Movies (purchased our mug), 4 nights Old Key West (used our mug) and 6 nights Tree House Villas (hardly used our mugs but they worked).

We did not have any problem using the length of stay option.

In your circumstances, I suspect that you may have a problem. It sounds like you have a stay with the meal plan, two nights no meal plan, and a stay with the meal plan. It is my understanding that you will get two sets of mugs. good for their respective stays.

The mugs sold for length of stay, are good for about three weeks! So if you get a length of stay with each set of mugs, you won't have a problem, but if you are only staying for one or two nights, you may have a problem depending on how the mugs are coded.

Guess we will see what happens. We will be in first room 3 days and 2nd room 4 days. Then the two day mug. We might have to pack 3 day mugs away to make sure we do not take mug to refill stand and have wrong mug.

If this helps,when we were down there in Oct/Nov time frame...we had 3 nights at VGF with the meal plan, then we took a 7 day DCL cruise and came back for 5 more nights at SSR with no meal plan...our mugs worked at both VGF and SSR!! Since it was longer than 14 days we had to have SSR add more days because they max out at 14 days for length of stay but that was no problem and no additional cost to us.

It truly worked better than I anticipated and hope yours turns out as well.

...also when you fill your mugs the display will tell you when they are good through, so you may know if it will work the very first day. My suspicion is that they give the length of stay when you buy the meal plan. That is good for about three weeks.

During a trip in September I had the dining plan for one. They automatically gave me a length of stay. When I changed resorts the mug was still valid for refills at two other resorts for the next 7 days.

I just got back from a trip, and I can report that my refillable mug worked at both resorts that I stayed at. I had about 3 weeks to use the mug and it looked like it would work at all of Disney's resorts.

We just had a trip in November. We didn't change resorts but we did change rooms and had 3 separate reservations. We only had the dining plan for our second leg of the trip. Our mugs worked the entire time. As said previously, the soda machine has a digital readout that tells you how long your mugs are good for. I think ours were valid for 3 weeks even though our trip was only 1 week.
