Since we will have a full kitchen and grocery delivery, is it worth it to buy a couple refillable mugs? Roaring forks appears to be a far walk to just "fill up". Any advice is much appreciated. Thanks.

We went to WL last April. We stayed in the Villas...furthest from Roaring Forks. We bought each family member a refill mug (5 total). All but our 7yo got their monies worth.
DH is an early riser and decaf drinker and I take longer to get up and must have caffeine. He walked every morning down to get our coffee...he liked the quiet grounds.
We all had sodas at the pool and refilled the sodas or hot coco before turning in at night.

An added note...we all love using the mugs at home. Good memories attached! :drinking1

On our last trip to the VWL, our room was at the very end of the hall.

We had stopped at Publix for some snacks and bought a couple of packs of Pepsi.

We found it way more convenient to select a can of Pop from our fridge. The distance to the Roaring Forks made the refillable mug inconvenient.

Depends on what and how much you drink. I, for one, didn't mind the walk over to RF as the grounds are lovely via the pools, or you can marvel at the main lobby via the inside route. Being a runner, walking a couple of minutes to get a drink isn't a real issue for me. I suspect it's slightly cheaper to buy drinks and keep them in your fridge (which we did for OJ and milk), but the mugs do make nice souvenirs, and they're easy to use by the pool, in the lobby, for coffee, tea, and soda.

On a side note, I do find it rather amusing that many don't like a moderate walk to get a drink, park the car, catch a bus, or ride an elevator, but think nothing of walking miles around a hot park for days on end. Buy the mug--you only live once! :paw: :cool1:

good advice! Thanks for the info. Since I enjoy walking, I think it will be a good purchase. It will also get me a little quiet time away from DD-3 and DS - 6 months!!

It's a much better value for coffee drinkers, because the mug doesn't actually hold that much soda, once you add the ice. I'd buy at least one, but since they never change the design I haven't bought any on subsequent trips.

Another Yea vote for the wonderful walk from VWL to Roaring Forks. Love it  .

I think it is worth it because it is always fun to sit and be in all the atmosphere!
