NO NOT THAT QUESTION

I read that the resorts are no longer selling mugs with their logo on them. All the resorts are selling the same mug that has the year on it.

Tell me this isn't true

We have an extensive collection of mugs from all the resorts we have stayed at over the years and looked forward to continuing this tradition.:sad1:

From all reports that I've seen, they all have the generic YOAMD mugs. I have heard that some people are finding the old versions still, so they might just be selling them till they run out. Good Luck!

If that is true, then how would the resorts be able to distinguish one that was bought at their resort and one that was bought at another resort?

I just got back from ASMovies and they had the year of a million dreams generic mug. That was the only one you could get there.

we were at WL 2 wks ago and they had the new mugs although ppl were still using their old ones w/o a problem but I dont think they had the old ones to sell. We bought the new ones tho, they are pretty cute and mom has been using hers since we got back lol.

Why is it a big deal if you resort hop to get a drink ? (Although I have not ever done this.) If you payed for the mug. Disney got the money. Don't you get unlimited refills ? Why does it matter if its at a certain resort. Its all owned by Disney. I'm glad they are using generic mugs. I still have to buy a new one each year regardless. Maybe I can at least get an extra drink or two for my money. Last year I may have drank 3 cokes and 6 coffees with my mug. Disney got over on me bad.

They had the new YOAMD mugs at both AKL and Poly when I was just there. The Contemporary still had their own mugs. But I saw people using the old Poly and AKL mugs anyway. I bought a new YOAMD mug at AKL because it's pretty, but I brought my Poly mug anyway.

There goes our resort hopping refillable mug threads!
How dare disney replace all the designs with one. I think I'll just cancel my trip!:rotfl2:

Serioulsy, I think it may make more economical sense for Disney to order one design and get some kind of volume discount on the mugs. I liked the different designs and I wish they would bring them back. It made my stay more special.

They are selling the old ones til they run out, then it's all YOAMD mugs, all the time. They can't tell the difference, so while it may be technically against the rules, there's no way they can differentiate, and I cannot imagine anyone would care if a guest at a different resort fills up.

I wanted to geet a new MARA mug because my old one went in the dishwasher a few too many times and is a little faded. I liked the giraffe design on it - reminded me of having breakfast on the balcony and watching the animals. But alas, I am sitting at my desk looking at Mickey and the gang on my YOAMD mug. I do like it though...it's cute.

My guess is that the amount of money they save by only having to produce 1 style mug for all resorts far outweighs any money they lose by someone bringing their ASM mug to the Pop and getting a coffee.

When we staying at All Star Sports in May, they only had the YOAMD refillable mugs for sale. It looked like it was only the small size, whereas in the past there was a small and large size mug to choose from. I thought they were so cute and had to have one.

During our stay we did notice some people were walking around with the old All Star Sport mugs. I'm assuming they brought them back from a previous trip?:confused3

Are they priced the same as the old ones? I think I remember them being around $10-11.

We were at Beach Club the first week of May. When we got there, we
bought the old mugs, because that was the only ones they had. While we
were there, they put out the new ones. I had wondered then if some of the
people that came later in the week thought the same about us, that we had
brought ours from home, but we didn't. :coffee:

Sorry I don't see it as rule shirting. You're paying to use the mug. But having said that I really doubt anyone would resort hop just to get free cokes. I seriously doubt I'll even take my mug when I walk over to POFQ ( Which is legal). You guys take this stuff way too serious.

What about SSR? This may actually save us $48+tax.

We stayed at SSR May 12-19.

The only mugs there were " Disney Vacation Club Spring 2007" refillable mugs. They are VERY colorful, with flowers & Goofy on them. They've got purple handles & lids.
