Refillable Mug Price Increase

I just read that the price has increased to $11.99 + tax for the refillable mugs. UGH! Just in time for my trip !!!

Hmmmm....... I wonder if anyone would notice my CBR mug from 2 years ago at POR....

Even at $11.99 plus tax, the mugs are still a great value. I figure even if I just get a cup of soda each day, it pays for itself in a week long trip.

Being a novice here -- how do the refillable mugs work?

You pay for the mug and then get free refills on soda, coffee, tea for the length of your stay. I think that technically it is only for the length of your current stay, but I have read that some people do bring back mugs from previous trips.

Okay - another question (sorry, but I've never stayed onsite -- we plan to next summer -- and its been years since we've been to WDW)....back to the question. If we buy our mugs at the resort, is that the only place you can get soda (we're not coffee drinkers)? Or can we get soda in the parks too?

Our DD will be 10 next summer (her last visit was when she was 4) and we're thinking of staying at the AKL since I've read so many good things about it here -- how is their pool? DD is a fish and would probably like to swim a few times during the week we are there. Thanks!

You can only get free refills at the resort you are staying at, not at any of the parks. We always purchase the mugs, it saves money and is much more convenient. If you just want to run into the food court for a quick soda or your morning coffee you can just go in, fill the mug and leave. You do not have to stand in line to pay. They make nice souvenirs as well, we have a cabinet full of them and use them a lot at home.

I can answer the AKL pool question. My kids were 12, 11 and 7 when we stayed there. They liked the pool and the slide was o.k. in their opinion, but they found this pool a little tame compared to some of the others like stormalong bay.
