I know that they have started making them in different colors, but I think only 3 and we will be a party of 6.

I am looking for a way to keep track of who each mug belongs too!

I would like it to be something washable as possible, so that it doesn't vanish everytime we wash our mugs!

Any ideas? Please share!:thumbsup2

We just took a black permanent marker with us and wrote our names on the lid and on the bottom of the cup. Nice and easy and no mistakes.

we put an initial on the bottom of each mug and on the yellow lids, we could write an initial. Didn't work for the black lids and no one in my family chose the red lid. :)

You could probably use a paint pen for the black lids.

They do come in different colors-black, red, and yellow.

How about buying one of the beads that are in the gift shop and use string, medal, elastic, etc to attach it to the handle. They had lots of different characters to choose from and they were quite inexpensive.

You guys have so many great ideas! I absolutely love those bumpy bands, they would be expensive to purchase, as we would only use them for this trip, but they are SO cool!

Thanks for all the ideas, keep 'em coming!

Masking tape, write the names on each. When you want to take it off, it comes off cleanly. I did this daily for DD's bottles for daycare back when she still used them. You can try different colored rubber bands.

Oh, and on the masking tape issue:

Just as a helpful hint, I always lose track of how many doses I have given of a particular medicine (antibiotics, etc.), so I put a strip of masking tape on the fridge if the medicine needs to be kept there, or on the cabinet that I keep it in, and mark down every time I give a dose. This way, your "track record" of doses is right in front of your face every time you go in the kitchen. Maybe this will help someone else out, too.

Love the "wine charm" idea...they are SO EASY and cheap to make from a craft store too.....
You can also just get those "Lock tie plastic thingies" the kind that are long and flat and come in a myriad of colors and attach a different color to each handle.
Not sure of name, tie wraps? They are about 6" long, plastic and you slip one end into other and it Locks!!
Hope that helped!
Even different color caribiners to each handle

You could always use a pocket knife or a car key and scratch initals into the handles.

Silver Sharpie ... shows up great on dark colored plastic and lasts through multiple washings (I can still read my DD's name on the bottom of her thermos that she used about twice a week all school year).

Add me to the sharpie list. I sharpied the bottom & the lid.

My 3 kids each had a different handle color.

We went in August & I can still see their names on the cups even though they have been washed many times.

We bought the refillable cups when we were there last year. Someone recently told me if we take them back this year, they will still honor them. Is this true? I thought you had to buy the new ones each year once the picture on them changes.

If I recall the pictures of the mugs correctly, the mugs are three different colors, but the colors match on the handle and the lid... so, you could buy two of each color, but mix three of the lids...

Guest #1 - red handle, red lid
Guest #2 - yellow handle, yellow lid
Guest #3 - black handle, black lid
Guest #4 - red handle, yellow lid
Guest #5 - yellow handle, black lid
Guest # 6 - black handle, red lid

Technically, there's another three color combinations, so a party of 9 could pull this off too! :thumbsup2

Of course, this is my answer... dh would say just carve each person's initials into the handles with a sharp key...

Regardless of whether the picture changes or not, the rules state that the mug is good for the length of the trip in which you obtain the mug.

Zip ties. :goodvibes

I switched lids and handles so everyone had different combinations. Everyone got the lid color they wanted, but the handle may have been a different color. It worked for us. I didnt want to ruin the migs with markers or tape. It was actually easy to do.

The only thing i wasn't fond of was that the sink at ASMO was so far in that the kids couldnt wash out their own mugs. I am only 4'11" and slim and i even had some trouble. And there isn't much room to fit your cup in underneath the nozzle. Maybe that was because i was too short.

I love the idea of zip ties, and that is totally perfect for keeping track of water bottles as well. I think you can get a pretty large package inexpensively and can just toss them with the water bottle. (I know - NOT green, but I am on vacation)

some of the zip ties come with a little tab attached, that can be labeled. I use these when connecting up network cables or other computer systems, really handy. Just get a fine tip sharpie! (the tabs are small)
