Hey there, Hi there, Ho there, hope your as happy as can be!!! ::MickeyMo ::MickeyMo ::MickeyMo

OK, our first trip to WDW is at the end of June, read all the in's and out's of the refill mugs at the resorts. But I have one question.

I know you are only able to refill your mug at your resort.
I've read, you can get ice at any park for free when asked.
SOOOOOOOOO
If your in the parks, can you get your mug filled with ice??
for free that is?? :confused3 :confused3

thanks

I have asked for a cup of ice in the park and have got it. They sell those big bottles of water, it gets warm fast in the hot weather.

Well i guess you could try but you could always just get in a regular cup then tip it into your mug. i have been told that ice is free so i will be taking up the offer!
claire.

:earsboy: I had the CM's fill my mug up with ice and/or ice water at the counter service restaurants - no problem at all.

I once tried to get ice in a cup I already had at a cart at Disney's Animal Kingdom. They would not allow my cup back behind the window, and gave me ice in a paper cup to pour into my cup. I questioned them and they explained that it could look to other's (managment?) that they are giving me a free drink.... I think it has more to do with germs. cleanliness.... but who knows.

It probably depends on who is working and which park you go to. If they give you ice in a paper cup, why drag your refillable to the parks.

I have NEVER had a problem getting a free cup of ice! I ask for it all of the time!

When I was at WDW last week, I asked for a cup of ice twice and got it both times-it was a small paper cup full of ice and covered. This was at Tomorrowland Terrace Station and at Flametree BBQ. Both times, I'd ordered two meals, one large drink, so it was pretty obvious what was going to happen (Mom and I split the drink). Never was I charged for the ice-a great way to save a little money for two people.

I have order just ice, nothing else and never been charged. I did not ask for it in my mug though, I don't know that they would put it in the mug for cleanliness/germ reasons. :flower:

When they filled my mug, it came from an ice dispenser... not from a bucket. I think one time from a bucket, they did give me a paper cup.

I won't hesitate asking for ice with every counter meal during our June Trip!

We have always ordered a cup of water at counter service resturaunts and it has always been free, with or without a meal. :sunny:

They will not fill your mugs. What we have always done is go into any counter service and ask for a large cup of ice water. I have always gotten a HUGE cup filled with ice cold ice water for FREE. Everytime for the last 10 years. You can just pour it into your mug but IMHO I wouldnt bother bringing your mug. Just one more thing to carry. Get the big cup of ice water and toss when finished. We carry Britta bottles and I get the ice water and just pour them into the britta bottles. Its freeezing cold and we always go in July so anything thats Freezing cold and free in July is a GOOD thing :cool1:
