What is the average cost of a cup of coffee in WDW. Trying to see if a refill mug is worth it for DH.

Around $2, I think. If you're staying at a Mod or Deluxe, though, you'll have a coffee maker in your room. This is why I haven't stayed in a Value yet. I prefer the in-room coffee to the Nescafe in the food court.

You will probably save money on coffee by by buying him a refillable mug if you're staying more than 3-4 nights. But, if you'll have the dining plan, coffee can be his beverage with breakfast at no extra cost, or you can use a snack credit for coffee. Keep in mind that the mug is only useable at the resort where you are staying.

Coffee was $2.29 at Maya Grill in April. It was $2.19 at Whispering Canyon in May. At those prices after about 6 cups you would have paid for a mug.

Coffee is instant at the food courts?

I don't know the exact process by which Nescafe produces their coffee product for WDW, but it seems to be a concoction of pre-brewed coffee ("instant") + hot water, instead of brewed grounds through a filter. Net result: YUCK.

If someone were to run a poll on who likes Disney-Nescafe coffee, well, why bother. No one likes it.

I brew my own in my room in PORFQ. I bring my own coffee and filters from home. In the parks and restaurants, I order coffee when I know there is an actual brewing machine or espresso machine making it the real way. :)

POR is a 4 cup pot. as well as CBR. they usually provide the coffee inside a sealed filter (reg and decaf). If you run out they will bring more.

How big are the coffee makers? 4 or 8 cup We will be staying at POR.

4 cup size.

As far as the mugs go.....you can also use it to get other drinks besides coffee. If you are not on one of the dining plans then the mug is a good value. We love to have one...we get our moneys worth in just one afternoon at the pool. Plus, you have a nice souvie to take home.

I'm curious about the coffee maker size as well. Do we need to bring filters?

there will be prepackaged ground coffee-in-a-filter on the tray with the pot...both caff & de-caff.

We're both major coffee drinkers, so the I leave a note on the tray asking for extra caff. coffee and maids always leave 2-3 day when I do that. (I do leave a $2 tip per night, too. Which probably helps.:rolleyes1)

I have also been pondering the refilliable mug question. I worry that it just isn't going to be convienient to use it. We are staying at the CR in the garden wing, so it will be a ways to get the mug filled at the Contempo Cafe.

As a coffee drinker I just can't accept that stuff that WDW serves as coffee. I pack up a Keurig. Yep, I'm addicted.
