Referral Incentives?

We have friends who have been to WDW with us twice now and they have loved staying in our DVC villa. They are getting ready to buy in and I have given them our guides name and telephone number. Does the referring member get anything?

It depends upon your state of residency. If your state allows it, you will receive the referral gift (I think $200 Disney Dollars). Many states do NOT allow their residents to receive the referral bonus. Texas does NOT allow it.

Actually, if you're in VA, you're now elegible for the referral bonus as of Jan. 1 of this year. There may still be a block in DVC's system, so you may have to do a little calling around to get the bonus, once your friends buy. I had to play phone tag with my guide and the Sharing the Magic office a few times before we got everything sorted out.

You can also have them take your referral fee and directly deduct it from your dues also. We are doing this now and will have to see how it works, since we have monthly deductions set up from our account to pay our dues.

However, a very nice guy at one of the kiosks wrangled me up an "I shared the secret pin." on our trip a few weeks ago, so I know Disney still loves me. If he were a guide, I pass on his name.

VA DOES allow for referral incentives as of January 2007. You need to check with your guide and be VERY, VERY persistent. Our friends closed in April and we received a thank you but no referral bonus. After many calls and support from this board, we just received our Sharing the Magic letter with the referral incentive options.

If anyone you referred bought after Jan. 1 of this year, you are now eligible for the referral bonus. I got to know my guide really well as I chased this down and ultimately had to talk with someone in the Sharing the Magic office before I got my referral bonus letter.

I referred my parents and have gotten nothing even called my guide and he told me they do not offer refferrals anymore.....
