Hello !

I know I was desperately in search of photos (and info) when I was planning my epcot japan wedding! So in case anyone else is too, I thought I would post some of our pictures to give you an idea of what a Japan ceremony looks like...

we LOVED our wedding and wouldn't change a thing, but if you do your vows up on the bridge, you HAVE to be microphoned because you are pretty far away from your guests!

Or you can opt to be down in front of the pond I suppose closer to your guests. But the bridge is so romantic! And I kind of liked having some distance between us and the crowd :) Made it more personal/private somehow.

But don't worry, your photographer can use telephoto lens for closer shots.

And how much do i love Disneyworld that I actually don't mind seeing a trashcan in my wedding picture?! :)

Those are beautiful photos!!!!! I never imagined that Japan weddings could be so pretty! Your dress is also very pretty!

your wedding looks gorgeous! more photos please!!

Very pretty...you’re the first Japan wedding I’ve seen....the bridge is very romantic....and i love your red roses

These are the first of a Japan ceremony I've ever seen, it looks so unique! Those are awesome pictures. You and DH look so happy and great together!

Wow, gorgeous! This was a site that I was contemplating because I was a foreign exchange student in Japan...but it wouldn't mean anything to DH, so WP it is. Too bad, because the pictures would be so much more scenic and unique than the WP.

you all look beautiful too!

disney really is the happiest place on earth isn't it?!!

I wish I was there right now!!!!!

:)

Beautiful! Thank you for sharing. I could never imagine what a Japan wedding looked like before. The bridge is gorgeous.

One question - did you guests have a hard time hearing the ceremony? Or did you use a PA system?

Thanks so much for sharing. Everything looked beautiful. These photos give a wonderful perspective on how things are located. I love the pictures on the bridge. You are a very helpful bride.

...but it turned out to be fine. they had a small microphone on andy's lapel so everyone could hear us. and I think the minister was miked too.

i was REALLY neurotic about my MUSIC being LOUD (more so than my vows) -- I didn't want it to be wimpy and tinny sounding. because I had all movie music. (played off a CD) I had the theme from Superman, ET, Raiders Of The Lost Ark, etc. so I wanted it to be LOUD and DRAMATIC and BOY WAS IT! It sounded like the full orchestra was there!!!

I would do it all again, the exact same way !!!

:)

Oh my GOSH! This is exactly what I needed! Just last night, my DF and I began talking about bumping up to a Wishes wedding in Japan, but we couldn't find any good pictures online. AND you answered my question about the PA - this is SO helpful! Thank you for taking the time to post! :goodvibes

So where did you have your reception? ;)

Thank you so much for posting the pics! Everything looks so beautiful! I can't wait until ours now... I'm even more excited. So how did you enter and exit? That's my main question about the whole process. :goodvibes TIA!

Gorgeous! DH and I have discussed a VR and this is the spot we'd want to do it at. Thank you so much for sharing!

They had Andy hidden 'backstage' behind the big pagoda that you see in the photo. He came around from behind there and then walked up the path on the left to the bridge. So Andy and his brother entered in front of and to the left of the audience.

At first my wedding coordinator was going to have him come down from the little restaurant on the right and just wait on the bridge for me. But I told her I wanted Andy to 'walk up the aisle' too. I had a great piece of music for him (Indiana Jones theme) and I wanted the groom to get to make a grand entrance in front of our guests too -- not just the bride! So I asked her if they could stage him behind the Pagoda and she said sure!

Then they had me staged BEHIND the main building (with the giftshop) so I came out from BEHIND the audience.

Lots of people we didn't see until the morning of our wedding because they had come in late the night before, so it was such a joyful shock to come out and see everyone there looking back at me that I a) made a goofy face when I came out (see photo below) and b) I think I swung wider than I was supposed to! I think I was suppose to walk THROUGH the two trees and go up the path -- but instead I went AROUND then to the left and up the path.

While I was waiting behind the building, I could hear Andys music playing. And then I heard this big, happy cheer go up from our guests so I knew that meant Andy had just come out and it made me grin ear-to-ear!

Andy's entrance music was 2 minutes long. (Raiders Of The Lost Ark) He and his brother made it up and onto the bridge in 2 minutes no problem.

And I had a 5 minute piece of music for me, my mom, my sister and my best friend to walk to. (so four people.)

I guess the length of your music depends on how many bridesmaids/groomsmen you have and how fast or slow you walk. I kind of cruised I think.

5 minutes was slightly long. We ended up standing on the bridge together waiting for the music to wrap up (I had told them not to fade it out -- I wanted the whole piece played) but it was fun because andy and i stood there together looking down at our guests and picking out people's faces and pointing and waving. (see photo below) It was great!

The music was SO LOUD, it sounded like we were in a movie.

I just wanted to make sure my music didn't run out before I made it to the bridge, so a longer piece was safer than shorter.

If you go down for a planning session. Try to walk it and time it yourself so you have a better idea.

We didn't even have a rehearsal and everything went so smoothly.

Thanks to our wonderful wedding coordinator!

(I hope this helps -- I probably should put this all in a proper trip report!)

:)

waiting for my entrance music to come to its sweeping, dramatic end...
