I will have a DD13 and DS10 on our trip in August. I've tried reading threads, blogs and the Disneyland website, but I can't decide. Do we set aside some time for Redwood Creek Trail? Or skip it because it is more appealing to younger children?

I'd say just walk in there when you are in the area for Grizzly or Soarin' and see what you think. If you like it you can stay and play; if it looks boring you can walk around and "see" everything in 5-10 minutes and then be on your way. If you are waiting a couple minutes for a Fastpass to start for Soarin', that would be a great time to try it out. It's beautiful in there and my wife and I love walking around, day or night. It's a beautiful little escape from the Theme Park Atmosphere. Our kids loved it when they were little but now they'd rather be on rides. At 10 & 13, it's hard to say--they may have fun chasing each other around for a bit. Nothing lost in walking in and taking a peek--no wait to get in or out. :)

My son who was 11yr old our last trip still enjoys it. Not quite as much as he used to, but it's worth a stop. We used to spend hours there, past trip was about 1/2hr. My daughter could care less about it. They have changed it a little, both kids used to like the "zip" line thing, that i believe is no longer an attraction. I would bet your son will like it, and it's a great place for parents to get away from some of the crowds.

They got rid of the zip line thing? DD rode that over and over one night last summer. It was late and there wasn't really a line. She loved it. She made a friend and the just kept getting off and getting back in line to "race" again. DD was 9 last summer and still had quite a bit of fun. I would say the 10 year old might still like it, the 13 year old probably not so much. I would walk in there in the area and let them nose around.

We were there in November and they had CM's outside of the zip line area doing word puzzles. I asked, they said there was no expected opening. I got the feeling maybe someone got hurt?(not that day, but at some point) Has anyone seen it open lately?

My kids are 13 and 12 and we won't be setting aside time for it - it's one of those 'if you've got time to kill and you are walking by' kind of things we might go in for a bit - but they have gone there our last two visits and they were 'meh' about it.

I'd be surprised if the ten year old didn't like it. I don't think of it as being geared toward little kids at all, and it's a great way to decompress from all the lines and the crowds and stretch your legs. I'm usually half-tempted to climbing around myself. :)

I've climbed all over the place with my son!! It's great! His sister won't go with him anymore, and we always travel with my mom, who can't do the climbing. Go for it...you'll love it

We were there the end of January this year and the zip line was open! Unfortunately my niece was too short to try it. She wanted to come back every day we were there to see if she had grown enough to ride it :)

My 11.5yo (at the time) DD loved the whole area. Me not so much, lol, being afraid of heights and really uncoordinated and with some neuromuscular issues. I'm guessing her next trip (at 13.5) she won't be as wild about it :(

My DD's (13, 10 and 8) loved it last August. It was a good respite from the sun and heat for us and they were able to explore on their own while we relaxed in the shade and set a plan for the rest of the day. I'm not sure I would specifically plan time for it though.
