I've been twice in the last 2 years and have never seen the entrance for the Redwood Creek Area. I know that it must be back by GRR. I didn't even know it existed until I returned from the first trip and found these boards to plan for another trip! I'd love to take my girls there if only I can figure out how to get in. :confused3

We've watched a few videos on youtube... my girls are 3 & 4... the the area appropriate for them? I saw lots of big kids running/knocking over little kids in the video. DD3 gets overwhelmed at the play structure at Burger King, so I'm wondering if it would be okay for her...

Thanks! (We leave in 15 days!)

As you walk through the Condor Flats area, keep going past the entrance to GCH and you'll see Redwood Creek on your right. My son loved this area from about age 2-6. When the kids are really little, you'll have to do a lot of running around to keep an eye on them, but there are some areas (i.e. the rock slide) where you can just watch them as they play. All in all, it's a fun area, especially if you're looking to get away from lines and rides for awhile.

Yep. Another way to say it is, if you're coming from Soaring, go past GRR, and you'll see the entrance to Redwood Creek on your right, about 20 steps past GRR.

Here it is on Wikimapia.

Thanks for the info! I guess I'll just need to keep my eyes open next time I walk through the area. :magnify:

We love it in there. The music loop is awesome, and its a great place for the kiddos. Its never been too crowded when we have gone there. Have a wonderful trip!

I agree. It's my most favorite music loop in the whole resort. :lovestruc

When we were there last week, cast members were stationed throughout the area to keep an eye on kids. They were at the top of some slides and were making sure that kids went down on their bottoms and were making sure that the slide was clear from the previous rider before they'd allow kids to go down.

My kids have been there from 2-6 ages. The swing the little ones can't ride on until they are taller, but don't let that stop you from going in.

The brother bear cave, the rock slide and even longer slide are great. Just be careful of where they are at. I had a few adrenaline moments when they take a different path around and you can't find them for a few minutes. Do stay with them because the routes vary and you can't see the kids if they take a different path.

The beauty of this over Burger King is you will do all the stuff with them instead of sit back and watch them. Let me tell you its quite a work out to climb across roap bridges while holding hands with your kids lol. I took my then 3 year old Grand son and we laughed and played so much there. Then he spent a long time splashing in the small creek. Bring a towel, sandles, change of clothes to get wet because they love that.

we just got back from 4d at DL and CA and Brother Bear was a favorite of our kids. our DS4 kept asking for the 'big slide'. we ended up having them play there two days in a row.

If your kids are *just* under 42" and like doing ride type things...I'd stay away. We took our son in there to help him over the disappointment of being just under 42" for Grizzly, and...the two things in there with height restrictions were also 42". The swing thing (sort of like a fancy tire swing) and the rock wall...though honestly they let him in for the rock wall (and seriously, WHY not??? but it is the rule so do not expect them to make an exception).

I felt that we were more in danger of fellow 4 year olds running us over...the bigger kids don't tend to go in there. And we're on the lookout, ever since my then 3 year old was knocked, hard, to the ground by a teenager in the water play area in bug's land. But don't underestimate the power of a speeding 4 year old! :rotfl:

And if you go in warmer weather, they might have a little stream going...a stream that's in a walking area...most kids were being told to avoid the water, while a certain then 5 year old was being allowed to lie down fully in the water...what can I say? Between Grizzly and bug's land, we come prepared for a soaked kid! :upsidedow
